Spieth only has one top 5 in 17 WGC starts. The one did occur here, but I found that stat to be a little crazy.

It’s a little surprising given how well he’s done in majors, so it’s not the strength of field that gets to him. More than likely it is the course fit, as Bridgestone is driver heavy as was the old Doral WGC event that turned into the Mexico one, and Spieth is a great iron player who excels more on the less than driver courses

The latter is a much better statistic as a guy can miss 18 greens, chip it to 12” every time and make the putt. He’d have 18 putts which is insanely low where on a Shots Gained Putting metric, it would be only about +0.2 SGP so barely above an average round of +0.00

That’s so logical, do you have Vulcan ears?

My Gosh,I just looked at latest ownership project. Tiger from 20 to 29%. I have zero,so week might depend on how Mr. Woods performs.

I’m sure a bunch of that is people pivoting from Rose.

Just the actual number of putts ? Or the Shots gained/lost Putting ?

I do not disagree with your statement :)

As for mine, I don’t think this is the fully distance normalized shots gained putting – but it isn’t just purely counting putts either. Probably still some noise in it, I’ll concede that.

oh wow, I didn’t realize it was that far behind filling, I guess people are finally voting with their wallets against the top heavy payout. Also I think the no cut events with a smaller field draw less interest than a normal week. Add on top of that some of the casual players are starting to look ahead to NFL and it’s not super surprising. It’ll get much closer tonight but could see some overlay

Edit: NVM disregard all of that….this is the second one they opened up after the main one filled. People voted with the wallets the other way and filled it early, haha

Sorry for the off topic but for those interested the Carr fire is now 115,000 acres and only 35% contained. 1,018 homes destroyed, 12 commercial buildings and 435 outbuildings destroyed. 6th most destructive fire in CA history. I know way too many of those 1000+ destroyed home owners. Only following this week to keep my OAD going.

Does it still pay 50K to first if it doesn’t fill ? How do they disperse… Would seem not fair to the first guys if this one pays the same with less field. Sure by now they have it all worked out for THEM

The big one that filled pays 100K to first.

guaranteed GPPs pay the exact stated prizes regardless of how many enter, thats what the Guarantee means on those. That’s why people chase overlay when the contests don’t fill.

  • Quadhole

good deal, i only want 50k, not the 100k anyway

Congrats!!!!!!! I have 3. They are 24, 21, and 19. Seems like just yesterday they were newborns. Spend as much time as you can with them and put the cell phone down.

    I’m 25. I feel young now!

The Milly Maker’s prize structure is even worse. 36% for 1st place out of 162K entries!
