Lots of different ways to build a team this week. Four rounds, no cut.

  • CJtheGrump

Haas’ first day is done…. now…. go hit the putting green!

  • CJtheGrump

    Henrik Stetson hole 14?
Seems like the shot tracker has been a bit wonky today. It now reads:

    Shot 5 in the hole
Shot 4 putt 30 ft 2 in., 6 ft 2 in. to hole
Shot 3 77 ft 9 in. to green, 36 ft 3 in. to hole
Shot 2 215 yds to rear green side bunker, 42 ft 7 in. to hole
Shot 1 287 yds to right fairway, 203 yds to hole

OMFGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG Berger, McIlroy, and Day are driving me nuts!! I have the 3 value guys who are going HAM in Piercy, Hoffman, and Dufner and the other 3 keep missing birdies under 10 feet. Somehow I am still in 3rd in the $400k Miami Classic. The 100k is mine though I can feel it. Berger, McIlroy, and Day literally could not play worse unless they intentionally sabotage.

I would actually be happier if they had a cut. I wouldn’t have to even bother checking my lineup on the weekend.

Couldn’t agree more, top guy is at 222 last I checked, I’m not even over 100 yet

  • walkoff9

rickie just got so damn unlucky

  • Dewoc19

My best lineup is so underowned, 5 out of my 6 guys combined only equal 32% combined and out of the 5 only 1 is under par, my highest owned guy is McDowell at 14.2% and he is 2 over, why do my players hate me!?

That’s assuming Piercy, Hoffman and Dufner keep it up…which they won’t. lol so good luck with that.

Of course marcus fraser was the aussie to take.

Dude is a great player. Ranks high in many stats on the Euro side. Driving accuracy and GIR I believe are his strengths. Top 10 in both I think.

    Marcus Fraser on shot track
Shot 5 putt 490 ft 3 in., 2 ft 7 in. to hole

Sounds like he’s a decent putter.

  • thetitanlb

Lol sure Fraser is a good player. Everyone in this event is. But dude gained 5 strokes just from putting on the field today per the stats.

  • AB99

Patrick Reed f-ing hosed me last week on 7 lineups….do I fade this week? Yes…in every lineup except the 1 I put in the $300

  • Dewoc19

man these scores are ridiculous, these guys suck, well my team at least, out of my 13 golfers, i only have 2 under par. what a crock of shit

YES he putted very well today but he did win 2 weeks ago on Euro Tour and has 2 or 3 wins in the past year so he’s a player potentially on the rise not too different from where Grace was 3 years ago. Fraser is more under the radar though as he doesn’t hit it far and gets it done by hitting fairways and greens – not a bomber at all so not sure if he can sustain today’s performance at Doral without a hot putter.

  • BIF

Of the Top 10 (those at -3 or better), all gained at least 1.2 shots on the green putting except Bubba who was -0.9 (a full 2 shots worse than the closest guy in the Top 10).

Fraser and Piercey were both over 4.5 SGP
Dufner was 3.788 SGP, Willet was also high with 3.2 SGP
    Phil was good with 2.25
    Hoffman 1.9, Walker 1.5, Scott/Spieth both 1.2
    Bubba -0.906

Who will stay hot ? Who will get hot over next 54 holes ?

Yeah thats what i meant. His lack of distance makes it so that he will have to keep putting this way to stay in contention.

This is basically the key to winning in this type of event. All these golfers are the worlds elite. The guys who putt the best are basically gonna be the people who win or are at the top of the leader board. Just the way it is in this type of event. Which is why not playing much in these types of events is the way to go.

Agree – I don’t like DFS on small fields and no cut events – I only played 6 lineups as I need some action because I’m gonna watch it LOL

  • walkoff9

I guess if you dont have a 9k guy that tanked today your ahead of the game.

Which is why Bubba was an auto play – guy putted like crap and is still T8. If he just putts OK the rest of the way he is top 3 again.

I’d worry about him come the weekend, the winds are supposed to be around 20mph.

perfect weekend to be all in on bowditch

It looks like I didn’t save the screenshot of the scatter plot – but I went back through the past 11 tournaments and compared the Vegas ranks (non-adjusted, so the same ones that lineups get built off of, at least at DK) – those were compared to finishing positions on Sunday.

There was zero correlation – not positive or negative, just a big cloud of zero correlation.

I would not expect a difference from course to course, but rather would love to know if there is a correlation of the same course/tournament year after year – this way you take out the course as a variable.

same course – vegas odds – place finished (that is if you have yearly data for at least 4 consecutive years).

  • JackLotte

hate waiting until 11 for these tournaments to start
