    Mizuno JXP 919 Hot Metals

I wonder if Mizuno has taken the approach of a lot of the other manufacturers of adjusting the loft on the irons from the traditional. Shifting the loft 2 degrees less on each club so now a 9i is really an 8i and so on. Makes everyone think they are hitting their irons further, but it is really the loft adjustment.

Wasn’t planning on playing this week but the $10 is going to be tempting if it is still 10k or close to it shy of filling right now about 10,500 shy out of 35k entries

Nice – really liked Route 19; they had a good 7% Double IPA when I was there 🍺

I hope that contest doesn’t fill as it is has a terrible payout structure with 33% going to first. Even if it was 10,000 people short you need to finish top 0.02% just to win $100.

    In 2 out of 3.

He’s my favorite out of the 3 highest priced guys.

I think that is the industry standard; when I started golfing a PW was 49-50 degrees and most people only had 1 other wedge ( a sand wedge) that was around 54-56 degrees.

Now the PW on most sets is a max 46 degrees those creating the need for a Gap wedge around 50* then still the need for another sand wedge around 54-56 and maybe still a lob wedge as well at 60+ degrees

The game is so different now – My standard set up is 4 wedges – I have a 46* PW, a Gap W bent to 51 along with a 56 and 64 that I use for most courses unless it a real long course or has huge greens (that I’ll hit more and chip less) then I will pull out the 56&64 and just drop a 58 in with an extra hybrid or 4i

Everyone has (for GI and SGI clubs). I’m still playing i3 blades. Kinda funny that I spent the summer going to graduation party’s for kids that are the same age as my irons.

Agree. I stopped playing in contests like that a while ago. Even the Millionaire Makers. Too top heavy.

Damn didn’t even look at the payout structure, explains why it hasn’t filled and I’ll probably just skip it

Looking at it now not sure why they don’t just make it 50k at the top and making it a much flatter payout l it would be a ton better

I haven’t checked it out because it’s out of my range, but I heard that DK changed the $555 payout structure this week to only 18% cashing (from previous 20+%), but then spreading that savings out more among the payouts. I think they’re definitely hearing the complaints, but still have mostly crappy structures in the other GPPs.

  • manoffewwords

Entered 4 lineups in $10 few days ago. Trying to withdraw because of stupid payout structure, but DK will not let me. I can withdraw from other contests, but not this one. What are rules? I was going to enter better structured contests.

the first 10 dollar GPP is filled so you are unable to withdraw

you can’t withdraw from a contest once it fills, so those other ones are probably not full but the big $10 is so you can’t back out now

Yeah I think you are right. My PW is 46 then I carry a 50, 54, and 58.

I had the first generation Nike Blades before my current irons. Wow those were hard to hit and missed bad!!

My PW was 44 but then I had it bent to 46 I believe, but I have 52, 56, and 60 degree Nike wedges. Oh how I love them and am going to miss them when I have to buy new ones. I don’t know what generation the 52 and 60 are (had them for a while now), but I only bought my 56 a few years ago at a golf show.

Looking like any WD’s this morning?

And by “because of stupid payout structure” you most assuredly mean “I lost my a** in baseball last night and I don’t have enough to pay my phone bill now.” Nobody cares about the payout structure. Everyone gets in to win. That’s it. If you don’t win it, who cares.

  • CH1NN

I hear Woodland might get out at some point because his wife is about to give birth.
