I suffered through his roller coaster ride last week. He’s too expensive for that crap.

Wow it’s crazy scoring out there (all from the leaders too).

Need Scott to do something. I’m not even cashing double ups with Scott + Oosty, since Fleetwood has like 20 FPs lol. But getting there, about 10 points behind now.

Sergio and Molinari just not making any birdies…limited placement points. They might barely beat someone like Hadwin which is sad but that’s DFS scoring.

Oosty loses his BOFR on a par 5. Rough.

  • Steverino01

We are now at the halfway point of the 3rd round where I go from doing really really really good, to everyone getting a case of the bogies.

Happens. Every. Single. Week. I. Need. Another. Beer, Or. Twelve.

Phil now making bogies. Horschel making bogies and doubles. Scott just made a double.

It’s the hardest par 5 on tour. Harder than half of the par 4s here.

Adam Scott just double bogied it and now bogied the 9th and now with that, I have no sweat for the week. I also fall behind more in the double ups, so not looking good. Thanks Adam. I’m sure I’ll choose you again next tournament since that’s just what I do.

I haven’t been able to follow any of this until now. What makes it the hardest?

Wow so apparently, it had the hardest par 3, par 4, and par 5 on tour last season (but other holes are easy). The 9th is even harder than the 8th.

    https://golfweek.com/2019/10/09/golf-top-20-most-difficult-holes-pga-tour-2018-19/

    Here’s the description:

“A very long par 5 that’s unreachable in two for most players. If you want to reach it in two, you have to carry the water on the left off the tee. Otherwise, it’s generally a three wood to the right side of the fairway, but not too long as an additional bunker has been added to the right. This leaves a layup of about 120 yards short of the green. There’s water in front of the sloping green, so it’s prudent to play the hole in three shots. The green is shallow, making it difficult to go for it with a three wood or a long iron.”

    603 yards
Really really tough to hit in two – you’d have to bring the water on the left into play on tee shot then somehow hold a super shallow green with lots of run-off areas around green.

Most players hitting 3W off tee and laying up but they added a Fairway bunker Which is seeing some balls as well.

It’s kind of like 14 at Pebble but longer in that if you try to hit it in two, you likely miss the green and end up in a very tough spot to chip from where you are not likely to make birdie and can actually make bogey. So then you lay up and you find yourself with a tough wedge in to a very awkward green. Good design but frustrating.

I don’t remember watching much of the tourney the past couple of years but this is a pretty good course – lots of holes can be birdies or bogies and the odd double or worse. I’d like a few less birdies (as I prefer tougher setups for viewing as opposed to these weekly birdie-fests) but this is a very good course and it might almost crack my top 10 for events to watch on tour – still wish it was a full field event with a cut….and wish we had a shot tracker to follow.
