bermuda $8 pays 25% to first. the $3 allows a whopping 396 entrants and pays. 10%.

Who can enlighten me on Macintyre? Is he as good as his recent form suggests or a flash In the pan? Any insight on his strengths?

Is there any reason why despite this being a WGC event a lot of the top American players are not playing? Yet pretty much every top European player and other International players are all playing.

Pretty much the only top guys missing are the top Americans.

because the World Golf Championship tries to take a world perspective. Giving the lesser tour players a shot at the big prize and also a fast track to the PGA.

wow apologize on me being wrong yet again. I am stunned they went with an alternate event.

Question and this is only for Cincinattibuck…….Do we play an alternate Happy Meal?

  • titanhawks

Cincinattibuck stated last week he would be late this week due to travel

I for one am hoping we have Happy Meals for both and both count in the standings

Looking ahead, this is the time of year where DK golf starts to get pretty sketchy. We’re going to be very light on PGA tour events in November and December, and some of them probably won’t even be on DK. I hope you like Euro Tour events because it’s that time of year; by December it will mostly be Euro scrubs. And then there are two weeks in December that probably won’t have any DK golf contests at all.

Nov 7-10: it seems there’s no PGA event next week, just a Euro event (Turkish Airlines Open). It has an above average purse (7M Euros) so it should be a good field.
Nov 14-17: Mayakoba Golf Classic on the PGA tour + Nedbank on the Euro tour (at a very long course in South Africa, as I recall)
Nov 21-24: RSM Classic at Sea Island + DP World Tour in Dubai
Nov 28-Dec 1: No PGA Tour event + Alfred Dunhill Championship in South Africa (small purse, weaker players) AND Hong Kong Open (small purse, weak field)
Dec 4-8: Hero World Challenge (very small invitational, like 25 players) + Mauritius Open (small purse, weak field)
**Dec 12-15: Presidents Cup AND QBE Shootout (neither on DK, I assume) + nothing on the Euro Tour
Dec 19-22: No PGA Tour event + Australian open on the Euro Tour (small purse, weak field)
**Dec 26-29: No DK golf and no sun. Most depressing week of the year.

He’s good. He’s on track for the PGA tour if he can take just a tiny step up. I see him as good all around.

But that doesn’t have anything to do with why the top Americans aren’t playing.

Like DJ, JT, Brooks Koepka, Tiger, Fowler, Webb, Bryson, Cantlay even guys like Woodland. Some of these guys just played Japan too so it’s not even a travel thing. I feel like almost every member except for Xander and maybe Finau if he makes it, of the Presidents cup team isn’t here.

But almost all the top international guys including the ones who play the PGA tour are here (Rose, Casey, Rory, Scott, Hideki). I only count Rahm and Day out.

I just thought a WGC event is a lot of money a lot of these guys would play.

I don’t think I’ll have time for a full blog this week and I’m sick of no cut no shot tracker so might just do one or two lineups this week. As for my results from my 20 max last week:

$3 Birdie: 3/20 lineups cashed, Best Finish: 617th
Total Profit: -$36, Total ROI: -60%

$1 Short Game: 3/20 lineups cashed, Best Finish: 941st
Total Profit: -$12, Total ROI: -60%

I was looking great after 2 days showing like a 300% ROI, which dropped to like 150% after round 3 and then crashed to the negative showing by the end. Overall I think I didn’t go heavy enough on the guys I really liked and I left a couple people in my pool more for fear of missing out and I would’ve been better off ditching them and going heavier on my other guys. I’m hoping that I’ll be more successful in a full field event with some course history to be able to guess ownership better.

DJ surgery declined invite, Brooks injury declined. Woodland/JT/Tiger load management I’d guess JT/Woodland played both events already over here maybe don’t want 3 in a row, Tiger had Nike commitments plus skins game etc. for the rest it’s a matter of personal preference they all could have played 2 or 3 of the events based on where they finished last year but maybe they didn’t want to bother with travel and/or don’t have sponsor commitments that mean much over seas so would rather just stay at home with family etc.

Also a bunch of Top US players skipped this with having to travel to Australia for Presidents Cup – I think Golf Channel said only Xander is here this week of the guys on the team

Last season the Sanderson Farms event was the same week as the HSBC and we included them both in the Happy Meal Cup.

Still getting back up to speed on dfs golf. Do we have a comparison course to work off of this week?

OK so a 75 entry $1 Bermuda Championship is a Happy Meal. It doesnt say it but if it fills it will count towards Happy Meal standings.

I am still hoping nmanci13 will pop on the thread and make good to the people who rightfully won past money on the pick only golfers under 8K. He signed up to the DK contest I named Please stop cheating. I dont know if it resonated but hopefully he is a standup guy. Until we hear from him it is probably wise not to enter the contest unless you feel like donating $$‘s to guy who has picked golf pretty good the last few weeks.

  • sfguy21

Anyone mind filling me in on what happened this this nmanci13 guy last week? I completely missed all this and I’m intrigued.

  • hbomb57

So as I struggle to win at DFS Golf or for that matter even get a round of golf in my Father-in-Law comes over to tell me he shot his age and got his third hole in one at the age of 83 in Michigan weather today. 50 F

    FWIW

Sheshan vs other courses on the PGA Tour last year. In driving accuracy, it ranked 14th, in GIR it was the 4th hardest course. In scrambling it was 4th while in overall putting average it ranked 36th.

Since 2005 only 4 winners were outside the top 25 in the World Golf Rankings when they won this event. Knox (65) in 2015, Poulter (26) in 2012 when it was played at Mission Hills, Molinari (30) in 2010 and Yang (77) in 2006.

Since 2005 only 6 winners of this event were in the top 10 of the World Golf Rankings at the time of their win, while 4 were ranked between 10 and 25 in the World Golf Rankings when they won this event.

for the last 3 weeks nmanci13 has entered a top salary LU in the gimmick contest Pick only golfers under 8K.

3 weeks ago he won taking money out of (tristenwolf or titanhawks Sorry guys I always get you confused) pockets. last week he finished second out of 3 and made no money.

since the first week he started entering our league contests, some people had tried to contact him but he does not appear to have a RG account. People wont play the contest now because its throwing money away. So just trying any way I can think of to contact him.

The Bermuda DK contests are the absolute worst in history, I believe. The pricing tiers on the $8 is an absolute joke. I feel this is really underreported how batshit awful they are

In fact I was so pissed I opened up a forum $5 single entry contest that has a better payout structure than the one DK offers, Top 20% win

The Bermuda events were an afterthought for sure, I still fired a few because why not and I’m a degen and all that but yikes.

Unfortunately have to discontinue the Cheap Whacks article for the time being. I enjoyed putting it together but haven’t had time recently to put together my spreadsheet. Last week picking blind was pretty bad lol.
