did you have a single bullet entered across all the contests? do you remember your lu?

50 lineups, and I had two that really popped off. Finished 15th and 81st in the birdie and the 81st was the one I had entered in all my single entry/3 max tourneys. Won the second Dogleg and almost shipped the single entry and 3 max’s

Don’t remember the exact lineups but I remember I was 100% DJ and was way over owned on the field on Fleetgoat, Pieters and Fisher.

What hurt was having zero JT and the huge hole in one bonus back then.

Yah but him choking away the lead and DJ winning were huge for you; I had lots of DJ and Fisher (I remember us being just about only ones on here having big shares of Fisher) but I had none of the other key guys so I was in min cash-vile.

Scrolling through the field then BAM Chan Kim right in your face

Now I’ve never really had the guts to do this before, but I feel like maybe a no-cut event is a good spot for it. I was thinking of going 100% in the 20 max on 3 or 4 guys and then a pool for the last few spots on each team. It’s just so hard to pull ahead people with the small field and no cut that I figure go heavy on a few guys and if they happen to do well then you give yourself more shots at the top. Plus the downside of a loser on your team doesn’t totally crush you like a normal cut event.

Does anyone have any roster construction ideas for no-cut specifically?

Whoa Jordan Spieth posted here^ (wait this would be embarrassing if I didn’t remember usernames correctly).

But yea I think a lot more people do stars and scrubs in non-cut events due to the fact the scrubs can’t hurt you as much with an MC.

  • dangasin

Spieth needs to 1 up Thomas and win the WGC. Friendly rivalry

Haha, Yeah people seem to love stars and scrubs for no-cut. It definitely is tempting since there is usually the option to pair two of the top tier guys together. Sometimes I try a more balanced approach in them because the 8-9k range guys typically go under owned.

I was more wondering about not specific roster construction, but your personal ownership numbers on guys when max entering. Does anyone go a bit heavier percentage wise on guys they like since the MC worry isn’t there anymore? I usually don’t go much higher than 50% on my favorite guy and then 30-35% for my second tier of guys just to mitigate some of the risk, but this week I really want to take a shot going all in on a few guys. Just kind of wondering if anyone else ups their percentages on weeks like this.

havnet played a ton of no cut stuff besides sony open, if i was gonna redo that tourney though id do basically what you said

im thinking about all in on at least 2 spots, maybe 3 and then pretty heavy ownerships of maybe 8-9 guys in the remaining 3 spots across the 20 teams provided there are guys i like in the ranges

Another option would be keeping your cheaper guys consistent and maybe swapping the threats up top to win. not sure how ill approach it

i would speculate that stars and scrubs is the majoritys opinion on no cut roster construction. With that being said I feel like there could be a soft spot in the mid tier guys that could be severely low owned… just my opinion

    Euro 10K 5$ is a 71 multiple Entries allowed.
What happened to under 8$ has a limit of 20 entries ?

So much for a euro play.

2378 entries total = 20 pro’s can do full entry for $355.00 and that leaves about 1200 single entries..

You really do have to wonder where the NUMBER 71 comes from…

I noticed this too. There are some weird limits on the WGC event too in the higher cash brackets, but the $4 is still 20 max entry.

I have to admit it is tempting however min cash is only $8, not $10

I’m going to miss a lot of this tourney unfortunately. Off to New Orleans in a couple days for a wedding. Too bad- it’s a fun one.

Going to guess right now Finau comes in priced in the low 7k range and he ends up being mega chalk.

Hey lfn (or any other EURO guys), what do you think of Paisley this week? I haven’t played EURO much but when I do he seems to be near the top of the leaderboard more times than not. Any thoughts on if he can be a low owned EURO in contention or at least pay off? I’m imagining he’ll be somewhat cheap.

  • Jamcclea

Can someone who follows EURO tell me about Shubhankar? Is he a bomber? Approach guy?

The 71 max entries comes from the rule that implemented a year or two ago in some states (and thus adopted by the major sites for all contests) where nobody could enter more then 150 entries in a contest or 3% of the total entries (WHICHEVER IS LOWER). So in this case the 71 is 3% of the total 2378.

Man I hope you’re wrong. Would love to play low owned Tony in a no cut event at 8.5k but looking at the field you’re probably right.

The rule was never under $8 for 20 entry max. The official DK rule is every contest under $5 is a 20 entry max and $5 or higher is 150 max up to 3% of the total entries and whichever number is smaller is what is used. So the 71 entries falls in the $5 or over category so it should be 150 entries but since it must be a smaller tournament it is reduced to max of 71 to keep within the max 3% of entries per user.

    It’s under $5 is 20 max

The $8 ones have always been up to 150 or 3% of total entries which ever is lower

I am hoping Kisner is mid-priced this week. With his horrible showing last week, could be one to watch. Had a T11 at this event last year.

Paisley was kind of a run-of-the-mill golfer in EURO, not really a Ryder Cup guy, and once he had basically got his card late last year, didn’t really try hard by his own admission. But this year he’s come out like gangbusters with a new attitude and he looks like he is trying to make his move to be one of the world’s best. I am sure he is really eager to do well in the WGC because it is a huge opportunity for him to prove he belongs on the Ryder Cup team.

What would worry me a little about him is that he hasn’t shown to be a consistent, elite ball striker. But he’s a good scorer, and probably has a lot more to play for than most out there this weekend.
