Last time I took Shelton at one of these Alt events he went +10..

Chances are he won’t do it again.. right?

He’s gonna be highly owned but not sure a $9400 Scott Brown is cheap – he can usually be had for $6000 to $6500

That’s what is holding me back – I know pricing is relative to field strength (along with course history and recent form in the algo) but it’s hard to clock on a $9400 Scott Brown when for the same price I can get Xander Schauffele (in the WGC) 🙄

Huge difference in strengths of field makes pricing look a little wonky.

right i know relative- but the pricing just seems goofy- a former champ with 5 top 10’s in 7 appearances? coming off a 2nd place this week. priced lower than grillo lewis or chesson hadley? i wish he would have been about 10.5 k to keep ownership at a decent level. i’m gonna be 75% even at 9.4k. (i’ll prob only be playing 4 in the $8)

and the $3 and $8 will be full by tomorrow a.m. another dk poorly executed contests.

I’m wondering about Carl Yuan (or Yuan Carl), too. He’s in the Google Doc but not an option on DK.
    ~

Carl Yuan was a Monday Qualifier – doesn’t look like DK is adding the Monday Qualifying 4-spots for the Alternate event. He is someone to watch and probably worth playing on a bet to Win, Top 5, Top 20

Here’s some info on Yuan in case he does get added:
    Yechun “Carl” Yuan
    Age: 22
    College: University of Washington
    Turned Pro: 2018
    PGA TOUR starts: 2
    PGA TOUR earnings: $182,000
    Twitter: @CarlYuanGolf
Notes: Has played in the WGC-HSBC Champions two consecutive years. Finished T35 in 2019 and T17 this year … In 2018 became only the second amateur ever to win on PGA TOUR China … Has made 4 of 5 cuts so far this year on Korn Ferry Tour with a T26 on Sunday at LECOM Suncoast Classic being his best finish … traveled from Korn Ferry event last night and was not able to play practice round … Made birdie on first playoff hole to claim last spot … In 2019 made 11 of 23 cuts on Korn Ferry Tour with a third-place finish among four top-25’s and finished 59th on points list … Finished third at Australian PGA last December, which was won by Adam Scott. He was leading after second day … Originally from China but went to high school in Florida … While in high school made cut and finished 55th at Shenzhen International Open on European Tour

what does Brown have to do with Xander in the WGC?

You missed the whole point of my reply about comparing players relative to their field and despite that, it is hard to simply click on Brown at $9400 when he is usually $6000-6500 and he is a guy that has missed more cuts than he has made over his career.

Xander is the type of quality player you typically get when you spend $9400 (not Brown) – you get a Xander type of guy who is a proven multiple tour event winner, a high cuts made percentage and someone who has challenged for multiple majors.

What am I missing here with Scott Brown? I’m nowhere close to using him.

Edit: probably should have quoted Tristan

no, I got the point, it just made it sound like, why would I click on Brown when I can have Xander .

Thanks BIF. The four made cuts in a row on the spreadsheet was enough to get me interested enough to include him in some lineups, but DK won’t allow it. :P

can I use the same argument for Johnson Wagner over Carl Yuan?

call it the stash vs cash argument.

Plenty of Beat the Forum contests open. Should be easy money. Last year I went 3 for 32.

What contests are everyone playing in for Puerto Rico? Nothing looked all that appealing at first glance.

WGC small fry is open for those wanting in on the WGC happy meal cup.

I’m all about the 5th Major tickets.

BTW, there’s still 40 spots open in Tim’s contest.

Yea, it’s all a bunch of junk. The initial $3 birdie contest was only a total of 495 entries. 1st place only pays $125. I made the mistake of reserving one early on (for the $3 mission of the day), only to later realize the size of it.

    Just saw the email

Here is some info on the other unknown just added:

    Justin Doeden
    Age: 25
    College: University of Minnesota
    Turned pro: 2017
    PGA TOUR starts: 0
    PGA TOUR earnings: 0
    Twitter: @jdoeden11
Notes: This will be his first start on either the PGA TOUR or Korn Ferry Tour … Has made 23 starts on the Mackenzie Tour-PGA TOUR Canada, with 11 made cuts … In 2018 made five of 11 cuts, had two top-25s, and finished 66th on Order of Merit … Last year made six of 12 cuts, including a third-place finish at the Lethbridge Paradise Canyon Open and finished 36th on the Order of Merit … I asked him what qualifying for first PGA TOUR event feels like and he said “speechless.” He said he called his family and they were “probably happier than me.” … Played both hockey and golf in high school, so wasn’t highly recruited … started his college career at NAIA school, Cardinal Stritch University … After two years and winning six of the 18 events he played in, he transferred to University of Minnesota … finished third in Minnesota State Open in first pro start … said he felt a lot of pressure at Mackenzie Q school in 2018, said if he didn’t get through there he was probably going to quit the game. He got through and he continues to see his game improve so this is a big step in that process.
