Bogey avoidance will be key this week

Which is contrary to the popular No-Cut approach of playing volatile birdie makers since they can’t miss the cut and DK scoring awards volatility more than steady par guys. But, yea, certainly looks like too few birdie holes and too many big numbers lurking to not value bogey avoidance. RCB’s scorecards might include every area code in the continental US by Sunday.

I’ve seen enough out of ole’ Broogsy recently off the tee and around the green to be all over him on this course, and I think he’s sort of put that ‘only majors matter’ schtick on ice with his recent comeuppance in Fed Ex (although WMPO certainly got that back on track), OWGR, etc.

I am not sure but….except for the long part, its not hard to correlate last week to this week.
last week – fast small greens, strategic approach.

last week, the driving accuracy and GIR were almost non factors, At least they were much lower than normal in many events (perhaps it was the difference between birdiefest and slugfest)

  • Money0227

My initial lineup has a lot of guys who were very relevant at some point this past weekend. Not sure if that’s a good thing or not.

and I think of the Florida swing API, The Players, and Honda (FYI the next 3 events which I love)
which I value strategic golf, proximity to hole, SG around the green.

I dont think its a fluke that they chose Concession as a course. I really believe the PGA try’s to put events back to back that favor styles of play (wording…have similar challenges to overcome).

I totally get why many people don’t like no-cut events, but I think this week should be fun. Hell…I’m coming off my first 6/6 this year (I’m a single bullet player) and it was one of my worst weeks (thanks to Sung Kang and K.H. Lee). I’m still checking the leaderboard today to see if they have lost any more strokes.

As of right now, I am hoping some people withdraw from this. I have way too many people in my player pool that I feel like I can’t omit.

  • Straightfire118

Winner: DJ in a playoff over Niemann

    Fade: Xander Schauffele, Bryson Dechambeau

    Sleeper: Lanto Griffin

I am just going to brag and say I took down the $2 chip shot over the weekend with a score of 558.5 DK points for for a cool $750. Ok done bragging. Probably not going heavy this weekend with new course and no cut though. Going to eat the chalk with Bryson, I’m positive he’s going to be chalky.

The PRO Field is so bad that David Duval is 6700

  • Money0227

DJ was such a letdown for me last week. I pretty much have to go back to him this week.

its OK to brag, but then I checked if you posted anything about what you were going to play or what you thought might work. Not even a Winner, fade, sleeper.

I just feel cheap and used……:)

Paying 8 gs for Gordon feels odd, but Ima do it.

Haha I usually do, the lineup that won wasn’t even part of my main core builds, I was heavy on DJ, Ortiz, Cam Davis, Homa and Xander last week. Sprinkled in some Finau, Smith and Burns and just got lucky. Wish it was one my higher buy-in lineups but then that’s really just being greedy.

DK has a 20 entry max Birdie for the PR Open with 792 entries?

And someone has maxed the entries so $60 to win a net $140 if he ace’s the tourney..

I was wondering, how many people play DK because they just want to gamble? just MME because a 20 LU spread is more fun than a single entry? and How many people think that you are playing against DK as well as WhoDAT or Timusbr.

DK is a business to make profits and US my friends are footin the bill. less 2x min payouts, higher payouts to first, is it rake increase time again? DFS has changed over the years. I love it but I also realize (comps suck, value of crowns which you must earn sucks) rake increases, cutting my % of making min cash, increasing entry fee’s, huge amounts of satellites which benefit DK more than any 1 user (unless your name is BIF). DK stacks the deck against you while dangling 1 million dollars.

so just wondering whether you have a thought that DK is a player in the game and its possible to help your odds that way.

I am thinking that some people are going to say never again to some of those top salaries and raking in the cash on some of those scrubs. Any thoughts on scrubs are welcome.

I have switched out of focusing on guys making the cut, sure I still spend my crowns on these small contests. But snake draft I find much more appealing, only having to beat 2 other guys and getting to “draft” ahead of someone is huge. +400 dollars so far in profit since they started only really focusing on SD 90% of the time. Maybe try your luck there?

  • RudyPujols

So it appears that Yahoo paid out their Genesis contests without ever reducing Finau from 1st to 2nd. I was 100% Homa and 50% Finau and I think the net effect was probably fairly neutral on me personally. But, wow. They make FD look like a well oiled machine.

  • BrianVT

Aggregate ownership is pretty much the only concern for the WGC. I’m just going to see who all the articles are talking up and stay away from those guys. Maybe take one chalk guy and bunch of punts per lineup.

I think I have the math right on this, but may be off by a few bucks.

If you ran a 20-team train and hit the nuts lineup it would net you $1,179. Not sure I have the balls or the bankroll to attempt something like that though.

Sounds like the play on PRO, if you think you have the golfers figure out, would be to just play every single cash/double-up SE there is. Probably make more money on cash than the measly GPP contests.

yes, but I do enjoy the process I go through each week, and rooting for my SE while watching the tournament. But lets be real, if that what I enjoyed most I’d enter the smaller $ contest.

64/100 in the WGC happy meal already but only 20/100 in the PRO one – we may have to beat the drum on that one to get it to fill.
