I’ve been playing DFS for about 3 years, and to this day I have yet to win a GPP of any level. I have come mind numbingly close at times, but can’t finish the deal.

Recently I decided to try and get away from playing MLB due to the extreme variance it displays so I decided to try my hand at MLS for the first time ever last night. I decided to enter a $1 Triple-Up because it offers a decent payout, while also paying a good percentage of winners which I thought would be good for a first time run at the sport. As it turns out, I ended up scoring 145.25 points and scoring over 20 more points than the next highest lineup in the contest. When looking at other MLS leagues for the night, I have yet to come across one that had a score as high as mine. In short, there is a really good chance that I missed out on winning my first ever GPP, because I didn’t enter one.

MLS contests aren’t all that large, and the potential winnings wouldn’t have been huge by any stretch, but it would have been nice to finally get that 1st place victory.

So while last night wasn’t a bad beat, or even a bad night, as of now it currently ranks right up there near the top as one of my most frustrating individual nights in DFS simply because I missed out on achieving one of my long lasting DFS goals.

With nothing much going on in sports today, I’d love to hear some others share in the misery and disappointment that DFS can cause and share some of your most frustrating DFS moments.

A couple years i had my lineup set on fd. Tournamnets were smaller then but anyway i was just in the squeeze and it paid 2k to first.About 5 minutes to lock i noticed the Braves game was going to be on fox so i took V.Martinez out and put Gattis in.They were the same price,Gattis goes 0-4 and Martinez homers lol.I would have took first if i had left it alone.I finished like 200 something for 15-20 bucks best i remember.

On DK, week 2 of the NFL season last year, I cost myself $15,000 by switching from the Arizona defense to the Ravens defense about 10 minutes before lock. The reason I switched was because I had 2 Arizona Cardinals in my lineup already and I got worried that 2 offensive players and the defense would be too much. Ravens defense ended up with -1 and Arizona scored something like 18 and I ended up with $300.

Playing the DK Sunday Fifty a month or so ago. I set my lineup before bed, wake up, think it actually looks decent, but decide within a few minutes of lock that I didn’t like Adam Jones going against the Jays’ groundball pitcher. I quickly switch him for Robbie Grossman of the Twins. Of course Adam Jones goes bonkers and has one of those 2-HR + days. The rest of my lineup did well too, so would have come in 3rd or so for a very decent win. Instead, I min-cash.

I had a routine going this past basketball season on Fanduel. From about mid-February thru mid-March I would play one lineup in the $25 Mega Slam and play that same lineup in the $25 Qualifier for the Fanduel finals. Most days I would cash enough in the Slam to cover my entries in the qualifier. Then March 16, 2016 came. I put my lineup in the Slam that afternoon but was unable to put it in the Qualifier. I did not know that since this was the last day to qualify all the slots would get snatched up so early in the morning. At the end of the night I placed 8th in the Slam for a nice $2,000 win.
You know what happened next. I told myself I wouldn’t look but I did. My score would have easily won the Qualifier that day. I was saying DAMN, DAMN, DAMN like Florida Evans on “Good Times” (look it up on YouTube if you’re too young for “Good Times”). This is what continues to drive me to do DFS today. The DFS gods owe me 

This happened about a month or so ago.

I have the exact same routine everyday. I create 2 lineups, one for cash and one for GPP’s. I always enter my cash lineup into one or two single entry GPP’s just in case it hits. I then enter 10 or so into the squeeze or the rally.

Well, it’s a night of the super rally. To make a long story short, I accidentally put my cash lineup into the super rally and my intended Colorado stack into all my cash games. My first thought at lineup lock was, oh crap, I’m going to lose all my cash games!

As it turns out, Colorado scores 17 runs and my stack goes completely nuts. I kill my cash games, win my single entry GPP for $750. However, if I don’t make that mistake and enter THAT lineup into the Super Rally, I ship it and win $50,000. That Colorado stack that night was the highest scoring lineup in any GPP, and I only used it in cash games and a single entry.

Yep, clicking the wrong button in a rush before lock cost me around $48,000. I’ll never forget that night, I remember Stevieptfl saying something along the lines of, “Oh shit, Bill would be winning the Super Rally”.

That’s a tough one to shake.

My first-ever DFS Week… If only had a clue then or a time machine now; but while I’ll fill in the blanks when time permits: it begins with my opening up a DraftKings account on the Wednesday just prior to the NFL Wk 13 slate last year, building and entering essentially the same Lineup in 6 $3 GPPs & 6 $1 Tourneys the next day (only pure punt being need for a Min. Salary TE) and waiting for Sunday to roll around… (Spoiler Alert: That pure punt TE turned out to have played for Green Bay Thursday Night vs. The Lions). TBC .

These last 3 weeks. I’m a multi entry GPP player and use the RotoGrinders lineup builder for DK all the time. Literally haven’t profited more than one night in the last few weeks. Haven’t even had any real sweats for anything big either. Hoping to get back on a hot streak soon because my bankroll could use it!

I was winning $50,000 in nba last season and I just needed the Thunder game to stay close because the only guy that was close to me had the same team stack minus kanter left. The Thunder end up blowing them out in the 3rd quarter and Kanter comes in the 4th and puts up a double double. I dropped to 3rd place for $10,000. I think I lost by 2 DK points.

Today when I swapped out Shoemaker/Hamilton for Conley/Bruce ten minutes before games started would of gotten first instead got 24th in $333 gpp, 50k mistake.

This definitely surpasses the time when I had Phillip Rivers and sitting in second in the big 3 dollar gpp week 7. Keenan Allen catches a touchdown but refs called him out of bounds when he clearly had two feet in. Rivers hurries the next play and doesn’t allow refs to review the play (under 2 minutes). Next play Rivers throws a touchdown to Woodhead I thought I was in first but some guy had Rivers + Woodhead. The non review cost me 50k still got second for 50k but yeah…

I was going to play that tourney but decided against it. How many pts was first place in the $333?

    Last night I switched out
    Odorizzi/machado/braun
    For
    Hammel/tulo/cruz
    About 5 minutes before lock.
Still scored 130 in the $33 last night. What would of been

My min bunt lineup one day would have taken second in the bunt. Instead of 400 I won 25

That play costed me too, but I rememeber the refs called a bogus offensive pass interference on Keenan Allen, which is not a reviewable play.

The refs should have picked up that flag.

I can imagine how you felt. Going from $100K to $50K leaves such a bad taste, even though winning $50K would have been a great feeling had you not tasted $100K.

There was a week a couple years ago where everyone loved Michael Floyd and he put up a donut. I finished 200th in the milly maker with him on my team. Only 1 team finished above me with him on their team. Even just like a 3 for 30 would have been worth a good chunk because of how much it would have moved me up. He also dropped a bomb TD on like the first possession of the game. Sad times.

The stupid Megatron fumble on the goal line vs Seahawks last year also cost me a ton for a completely dumb reason.
