Seeing as 2016 has been a struggle for me so far with the NBA, which has typically been my best DFS sport, I wanted to try to focus on the positives as I try to get my mind right and get back on track. This got me to thinking about where I’ve had success in the past and thought it’d be cool to hear any stories of success that people want to share.

My most memorable win came during last year’s NBA playoffs, and I remember it vividly. I had thrown some $2 entries into a 2-game slate featuring Bulls vs. Bucks and Warriors vs. Pelicans. Figuring that most people would lean towards the Warriors game, I got the idea to do a 7-player stack from the Bulls/Bucks game to try to separate from the pack. This still allowed me to go with Draymond Green in the other game. The Bulls/Bucks game was competitive throughout and ended up being higher scoring than I expected.

As the game went on and I looked at this lineup and the standings, I remember thinking that if my stack could get to 250 points or above and Draymond can get the 40-50 I was expecting from him, that I should be able to approach or exceed 300 and maybe have a shot at a good sweat that night. My stack finished with around 252 if I remember right, and it was all up to Draymond from there. He had a good first half as I continued to climb up the leaderboard, and I was so close to the top when he went to the bench in the 3rd quarter. Haha, I remember how long it felt before he came back into the game in the 4th as I dropped a little bit in the standings. He came back in the game and picked up where he left off, helping take me to the top of the leaderboard where I tied for first place! All in all, I took home over $400 that night on $24 in entries. It was pretty awesome, and it’s experiences like that that push me to keep grinding even when I’m struggling like I have been for the past 3 months.

Good luck, fellow grinders! Anyone else have any stories they want to share?

I was down to my last $33 in my account and stacked the Boston clectics game in the the playoffs. Isiah hit a buzzer beater 3 pointer at the end of the game which jumped me 10 spots into 3rd place for $10,000

    Nice one Rycol19

This is obviously my best one: DraftKings NFL Nov 2nd, 2015 NFL $350K MONDAY NIGHT SPECIAL [$350K GUARANTEED] (MON-THU) $5.00 1 / 80500

I lost most of my bankroll that weekend and think I had about $160 left and threw it all in this tourney. I believe Monday was the 1st career TD for Corey Brown and then had Duke Johnson Thursday night who also scored his 1st career TD. Big money was thanks to having Carson Palmer who threw 4 TDs and 3 of those were to Tyler Eiffert who I had. I was at my bar and my bartender videoed my drunken 4th quarter stupidity. Didn’t even notice I had 3 other LU in the top 20 thanks to a Palmer/Eiffert stack. Good times.

Nice. I’m still trying to figure the NFL out. Seems I get killed by the last game on the slate doesn’t matter if Vegas O/U is 39. They still score 55. I’ll get there. How cool is it when your players dominate and no one else has them. In MLB my estimate is 8-10 players a night, but you have to find them. On way is the par timer getting a start behind the stud against a top caliber pitcher.

Had 2 from NBA this year: The first was on one of the nights where OKC played at GS and they combined for like 240 points or something. I was in first place until like the last 2 minutes when this other guy went ahead of me because he had Durant. I still came in 2nd and made a few thousand that night which I’ve been playing off ever since.

The 2nd game was even crazier: Using the DK app, I entered the wrong contest by accident late at night while nearly falling asleep on my couch and entered one of the contests that costs over 1K per entry TWICE. So I almost blew my entire bankroll by accident and it came down to the wire. I had Westbrook and a few others in the OKC-Indiana game and then later that night I had Jordan Clarkson and Lou Williams in the last game of the night against Chicago. Williams BARELY played most of the game because they wanted to give Kobe lots of burn in his final game in Chicago. Thankfully Jordan Clarkson got red hot in the 2nd half and scored like 20 + points in the 4th quarter and I ended up cashing and making all my money back plus like another couple hundred bucks. I was nearly crapping my pants that entire day though. So make sure you’re wide awake when you make your contest entries lol.

That’s awesome! I made a few grand back in February and I was nearly done playing for good before that. LOL. Funny how that can happen.

I tied for 2nd in the Fanduel Playboy Mansion Freeroll. It was unclear what the tie-breaker rules were, so I had the sweat for a couple of days until it got sorted out. Awesome trip though.
