Was curious when baseball games will be in the fanduel lobby?

Hoping sites post games for the opening night 3 game slate and salaries next week

  • jimmyrad

DK had MLB up on 3-6 last year, 3-10 for FD. And the season started 2 days later than this year.

    C’mon Bros!

  • Sax0

Was actually curious about this enough to email DK support about it yesterday. Got this generic response in return:

“Thanks for writing in! We will be releasing the initial player pool in the coming weeks so keep an eye out! We will also be following up with some emails about exciting promotions we have planned this year. Stay tuned!”

Coming weeks?? I would think it would be any day now, especially if they are planning on another Opening Day Slugfest, as I’m sure they would want to start on getting that filled.

I’d rather them wait to post the games to adjust salaries accordingly to roster changes. Posting early creates obvious value

I’m not sure that’s really true with baseball. In the past you would see both FD and DK post their MLB slates up to a month before the start of the season. They did that because they advertise in several of those yearly draft guides and it’s kind of pointless if you are advertising MLB but someone comes to your site and there isn’t any MLB listed.

As far as “creating obvious value” I’ve never really seen that happen. The closest I can remember in four years playing was when Grady Sizemore made the 2014 Phillies opening day roster and he was priced at $2200 on FD. He did end up hitting a dong, but he was still only like 30% owned so not everyone even caught on. Plus, I’m not really sure that was a “no-brainer” it just worked. Maybe it shouldn’t have.

For the most part, almost every team is pitching their “Ace” on opening day. Even if there is a fringe guy who looks good and makes the opening day roster I’m not sure it’s a no-brainer to fire him up against the Klubers, Kuechels, and Kershaws of the world. (Maybe it is though with negatives for outs being removed)

I went back because I was curious if I was overlapping sports in my mind. Opening day last year I had two people 50% owned in Cash but I don’t honestly remember the scenario.

Not to be “that guy,” but it was the Red Sox he was on in 2014.

    Bump. Any word @Fanduel?

  • Olhausen

I’ve got to think they post games this upcoming week on both sites.

  • OneShotKill17

I was told by DK that they would post games about a week before opening day.

  • DntSwtDaTcnq

    So, next Sun/Mon

  • OneShotKill17

Right, PGA salaries came out for the masters on 4/7, but can’t get an MLB contest up

Just cause you make the MLB team and the Opening Day lineup at minimum price doesn’t make you a good value play like if a D-League player did the same making an NBA roster for Opening Night.

  • getlucky4

Yeah min price with platoon, top of order, and in good ball park. High team projection and good iso just icing on the cake. All attainable info but then you watch the game and his team scores 7 runs and he goes 0-5. People then blame rotogrinders for playing the guy and all you can do is laugh.

Looking forward to hopefully seeing a live final announcement soon as well. App going to be ready by Opening Day?

  • rdogg63

Getting antsy. We’ve got salaries for the Masters on DK, which doesn’t begin for another 18 days, yet nothing for baseball, which starts two weeks from today.

  • tvsfrink

Why are you guys so worried about seeing salaries two weeks out?

Because its almost MLB season and having games posted will be exciting for many of us.

  • sutogame

if they did a million maker for opening day it would sell out

Exactly. There’s no worry involved. It’s being excited for a new year.

And also, since the format on DK changed it would be nice to see it sooner rather than later.

Have to imagine today’s news from New York is the reason we haven’t seen anything on the baseball front… Really stinks, but will be interesting to see the size of the prize pools that come out with no New York and Texas likely for the majority of the season.

Not only that imo, but the 3 game slate as the 1st regular season day over what we usually see as Opening Day (10+ games 1st regular season day)
