Hey I know that Fanduel is considering changes regarding it’s head to head games and I wanted to make a post here to build more support for a method of restricting players from abuse of head to heads.

Fanduel made a good step by introducing a 250 game limit for the lower stakes recently, but what I didn’t realize at the time is that this is proportionally less effective at the less popular sports like NHL, where there are fewer contests available. In particular there is one player who exploits the rules more than most. Yesterday I decided to conduct a test where I would post head to head contests at the $5 level and see how many I would have to post before this player would stop scooping every single one of my contests and I could finally play some other players in the head to head games. Here are the results: http://i.imgur.com/BHreNRs.png . I had to post more than 75 games before I could finally get him to stop joining my games and get other people to join them. This is not within the capabilities of an average player.

I think Fanduel is doing a lot of great things, and introducing some change to restrict head to head abuse could be a great next step to improving the player experience on their site.

dont see how this is abuse.

you posted a game inviting anyone in the world to play with you. he wanted to play you. then you did it over and over and over again. obviously you are a user is capable of playing 86 H2H’s against the same person. so is the user that played you. don’t see much wrong here.

maybe you’d prefer if there was a gentleman’s agreement amongst regs not to play each other? unfort, there isn’t. think this guy was being pretty reasonable for playing you.

maybe don’t post so many games next time. good luck.

I play H2Hs every day and can scoop people I’ve had an edge over in the past, but I don’t. I think it’s tacky to take all of their games just because you can. We all know why someone would put out multiple H2Hs, so to just act desperate for some action every time a player puts himself out there is lame AF.

You have to wonder how many more tens or hundreds of thousands H2H contests would be available to play and rake on FD if they would implement a full match up blocker. You should be allowed to block as many people as you want and set it that people can only take max 1 to how ever many games you deem ok. Allowing people to post and play vs people they actually want to will drive more action than all these idiots scooping could ever do.

you got a winning % of 41.3 vs someone who is “bad”…what does that make you? lmao you’re a joke.

Ouch. I love it when people assume incorrectly that those who want controls in place for the longevity of this industry suck as players.

beltwieldindad, i’ll play you for whatever stakes you want on DK as long as it’s 109 and up.

(i won’t expect you to take me up on this despite you being clearly profitable in this matchup)

Why not play 22 days for $5 a day?

anyone else find it ironic that a thread about people (like saul) who sit on their computer all day buying up every h2h they can get to ended up with him throwing out h2h challenges? If i wanted to play you all Id need to do was post a h2h and pray you’re not in the bathroom. Anyways, look for me in your h2hs, ill be taking some of them now that I know your attitude is almost as bad your hockey teams :)

Looks like Saul needs to focus on building better lineups before stepping. Would be interested in seeing the outcome of $5 for 22 days.

Why does it have to be a $109? Does that help you build better lineups?

Maybe the plan of these guys is to throw the low stakes games to try and you get you to accept their challenges for $109: http://i.imgur.com/P49GWqY.png?1

I am completely with @Billsfan on this one. Regardless if you are good or not, it is not in the long term interest of DFS or user experience to allow a few users to scoop every fucking contest they can get their hands on. I understand that they aren’t breaking any rules (assuming they aren’t using a scooping script), but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand that this is certainly the type of activity that State AG and general DFS haters will use in their attacks against the game.

FD has had ample opportunity to address and they haven’t and it really is a joke. Although I appreciate @DKfromBK requesting input – the simple fact is his company knows the issue, people have been voicing their concerns for years. So although his heart may be in the right place, it is laughable that he would ask for opinions on something he absolutely knows isn’t and likely won’t be a priority for FD to fix.

I like most here want DFS to stick around, but it is greedy business practices that allow the H2H lobby to remain the way it is over at FD. People want to blame angry “losing” DFS players for the fallout in the industry. In regards to FD, they only need to look at themselves. The fruit rots from within.

I mean, Saul Goodman, I appreciated your contribution to RG articles a while back, but it may make sense for you to check the stats of the guys you are looking to burn with your comments. My man has been taking the “belt” to you at the better part of a 3-1 clip. And sorry, 80+ h2h’s is plenty enough sample size to glean a useful metric.

  • GoBlue04

I guess the cats out of the bag now. Saul Goodman is just playing dumb to get more games. Well played sir.

You are missing an absolutely massive point regarding sample sizes of head to head matches.

How many H2H matches does it take before you realize you are getting your ass handed to you by someone, 75% of the time?

one option would be to stop sucking and start making some good lineups so you don’t get scooped.

Has nothing to do with gross quantity of H2H matches.
