The ResultsDB tool has been a great help in doing research and finding leaks in my though process. I noticed something curious from the main 10/25 Fall Festival tournament. Otto Porter vs. Lakers was the highest owned player by the public on the slate at 45%. Across any projection site I looked at, Porter had one of the highest value and projected ceilings, and had been crushing it in the past couple of games, and was in a tremendous spot vs. Lakers. Yet Youdacao, ChipotleAddict, and Awesomo all completely faded Porter: 0% ownership.

It seems to me they are using similar models/thought process here and I can’t figure what they saw to fade Porter. If there’s something so basic I’m missing here, there is a massive leak in my game, albeit I’m a low stakes grinder. It can’t be as simple as fading public chalk, as why didn’t that apply to all of the other high owned players.

Any thoughts on what led all of them to fade Porter?

Just FYI guys in this thread, Youdacao had 0/150 Otto Porter tonight, Awesomo had 0/150 Otto Porter tonight, and ChipotleAddict had 0/150 Otto Porter tonight.

Seems to me they just don’t like him. Not really an ownership type of play. He was projected as low owned today too.

Irony is he might go off today at 5% owned without Markieff.

    To summerize,

Do pros use ownership %. Yes. I would say almost all do.

How do pros use ownership%. I assume it’s secondary to projections, but it might be the case where A and B are similar but B is way lower owned, so in this case, you load up more on B. That’s an easy explanation, but I’m sure it gets more complex than that.

Is this Otto Porter case an ownership play? Maybe, but I agree that it might not be at all and it’s just a projection thing. I checked out some data myself and found all of them didn’t play him tonight vs. the Lakers either, so it could be they don’t like him in general. But it doesn’t mean pros don’t use ownership % and pivots. That’s a big thing in game theory that is used.

To each their own. All I know is every single pro I came across yesterday who max entered had at least 40% Harden. Almost no pro underweight him. You would think that at least one would given how high his ownership was projected for. I see Billholler did the 0% Harden so I do believe that some people do these ownership plays, but can’t convince me most pros do. They go for the optimal player who was Harden.
