I realize it’s a niche sport, but this is a big week to help it grow! Lots of NBA guys will play. Can you guys open up the NHL grind for a few days? Maybe it would bring a few more people to the sport. Just a thought!

The hosts of GL are finding out what the sun actually looks like on their skin. They will be back for NBA soon enough.

what do you mean? They have pretty much all the same articles for nhl that they do for nba. only difference is the grinders live show is only 3 days a week for the big slates.

All behind a pay-wall. No injury updates – EVER. Line-ups page hit, or miss, for accuracy.
Take a look at the “Alerts” page – two days of nada, except premium tantalization.

Is the NHL really a niche sport? MLS and NASCAR are niche sports, but NHL is a “major 4.”

It’s niche when it comes to DFS, meaning it’s just not that popular. Other than during the NBA all star break, the contests are generally small, and participation on the message boards is scarce at best.

NASCAR seems to be less niche in terms of popularity than hockey, regardless of hockey’s standing as one of the four major sports. Someone can correct me if I’m wrong, yet I think NASCAR is a more popular real life sport than hockey nowadays anyway.

Just don’t understand why this year they don’t do replays of the grinders live nhl shows-every other sport they do-its only 3 times a week RG wtf??

This is why you play NHL, because of the edge. You have to take the time to learn how to play the game and do your own research. It is not just RG that ignores NHL it is almost all of America.

Agree. I think that’s whats drawing my action away from NBA to NHL.
I get the pad and paper out and go to work and it’s seeming to coorelate to success. As opposed to frantically checking updates all day tying to figure out what random player will see his workload increase astronomically.

It’s what I miss about not having college sports anymore. There was even less information there, so again, it felt like one of the few places you could still find an edge.
My one concern would be that someone might want to figure it out on their own, get frustrated but still want to gamble, which winds up with them purchasing lineups or just using optomizers, etc.

And in regards to hockey being a “big four” sport. I doubt it’s currently more popular than MLS. I could be wrong, but my assumption is it likely only feels that way to anyone like 30ish and over, because it may have been the case, or at least was presented as such when I was a child.
