There is not going to be an MLB Grind Down on Sundays this season. We will have a full slate breakdown article in the Premium Section (‘Questions & Answers’) as well as all the other usual tools like First Look, LineupHQ, Consensus Value Rankings and Expert Survey.

The Grind Down will be back on Monday.

    That’s really disappointing news

    Hi everyone,

As Dave mentioned, there will not be a Sunday MLB Grind Down this season, but resources will be there for premium members (including my article that breaks down the slate). A ton of work goes into each Grind Down – a typical MLB Grind Down usually has 15 games, which means researching and writing about the pitching and hitting for 30 teams. This typically takes hours to do. With games starting early on Sundays, we had to weigh the pros and cons of trying to crank out an early Grind Down before lock.

The MLB Grind Down will still be available Monday through Saturdays, and I wanted to pass along this background to you with the hope you can understand the thought process behind this decision. Thanks.

Understand, and appreciate eliminating the write-ups for each team; but, as someone that regularly uses the Grind Down in my daily process (especially for baseball), would strongly advocate for a Sunday Grind Down with statistics only. Would it really be difficult to release an article with the usual data – just no analysis?

Hi, for numbers only I would suggest relying on Noto’s First Look, which will still be available for members: https://rotogrinders.com/articles/mlb-first-look-sunday-march-31st-2988702. I realize these are more high-level and not at an individual batter level, but I also use this in my daily research as a guide.

PlateIQ also has a ton of stats and data available you can leverage.

Very disappointed at the decision. The slate is one of the biggest of the week, and i would have thought that more time can be allotted at the weekend than a weekday, where sometimes slates start at the same time or earlier. There does seem to be a trend toward more and more premium content, which is a shame for the everyday but low stakes player like myself who finds the grind down invaluable.

Totally understand! Thanks for the hard work guys!

Agreed. I will not be renewing my premium membership for MLB. Hasn’t helped one bit.

Can you please just post the statistics (grind down) on sundays? Im fine without the write-ups, but i rely on having those numbers for my research. And Sundays are the primary day I play fantasy on! Its ruining my day!
