BANKROLL FORUM

So I am actually really intrigued by whether or not the people that have not won a GPP have actually made money? I of course know there are some, but I’m curious of the percentage. Thanks for the input.

I’m up a little bit over the course of 3 years of sporadic cash game play but I would be well down in GPP’s without a few GPP wins. Given the top heavy nature of them you basically can’t survive at low-stakes without a couple big scores. In 2015 I was able to stay much closer to even or a small loss even without big wins but with higher rake and better competition I don’t think it’s possible to not lose without some big wins.

Agree. Why do the sites allow multi entries anyway? I guess if you think about it, if I could play blackjack, I would sit at every spot on a table and probably play well. It’s an encouragement to gamble, which is believable, but it also detracts from the methodology that it is a “game inside the game.”

black jack and navigating a 14-game MLB DFS slate are 2 different beasts of and among itself……….

I’ve managed a couple of GPP wins over the last 2 years but my guess would be that i’m down a little bit. Might be up a little if I didn’t include the chunks Uncle Sam took from me. Wish I could give him a few chunks of my losses but I don’t want to inflate the national deficit.

Truth is, it’s all about bankroll management. I play strictly for the entertainment value and have terrible bankroll management. If I was playing as a source of income I’d be more strategic about which contests I enter and set limits. As it is now, if I create a LU and then my research comes across a player the would be a better option, I can’t seem to make myself switch the player out, I just create another LU.

I would say the majority of people who have won a single GPP are down, those who have multiple GPP wins and play as an income source are up.

how does this even make sense for the topic? the MME aspect of dfs is not the reason the vast majority of players are $negative in GPP’s, nor does it explain why the majority lose money in cash games.

And if a person can’t master basic strategy (and counting) playing every seat at a blackjack table will only result in losing one’s money incredibly quickly. and, btw, edge/skilled blackjack players (and teams) do play as many seats as possible when they have a rich deck or favorable rules. the edge does not come from having more money in play, the edge comes from having the skill to have an advantage with each bet. it’s the other way around, you play more money because each bet has a pos ev.

Yes, it is certainly possible to be a net winning player from cash only, assuming one only plays cash.
