Any chance we get contests on DK for the WBC? Seems like a slim chance since they have never done spring training games but we did get Olympic golf and basketball contests as well as the fact that they run preseason NBA and NFL contests. Can’t wait for baseball to be back!

World Baseball Classic already started on Draft Kings this week and if you are talking about regular MLB, the season starts April 2nd.

Ty. I play on fd so I gotta wait for MLB.

Haha. I deserve that. But the main point was simply that I don’t think salary plays any role. It hasn’t so far. It may change, however, with countries like DR now on the slate.

Wait…. dude I wasn’t being sarcastic. Lol, I haven’t cashed yet and I was looking for some tips. Finishing that highly that consistently on only 4 entries is impressive.

I used to play on fan duel but I love the two pitchers rule and being able to swap at anytime before the game locks. Nothing worse than finding out a you have a late scratch or a rain out you weren’t expecting.

DK has always been and WILL always be better than Fanduel.

The key the last 3 days in my opinion has just been understanding game theory. Salary has been irrelevant as cinthree said. So it’s been fairly obvious that the highest priced guys (Netherlands guys mainly) will have incredibly huge ownership.

You could anticipate that the public was gonna be all over the Israel Netherlands game. Fade that game and stack Australia and you were pretty much guaranteed to cash

Today that probably changes though with the more expensive players entering the player pool for DR.

    Thank you for the help.

I think people are underestimating Canada’s potential.

Oh. Lol. My bad then. Ha. Let me start over:

    Thanks!

As for tips – I think the biggest thing is not being too attached to name reconigition. The guys on teams like Japan and Cuba can play baseball – even if they’re not quite as good as some of the more known teams, at best the difference is quite small.

And this. Plus, even if you told me Australia was chalky yesterday and Netherlands wasn’t, I still may have gone with Australia stacks – it would have been a definite tough choice to make, if it was a choicebetween a chalky Austrailia and an unchalky Netherlands. China is far, far, far worse than any other team of the 8 that were/still are playing in those first two Pools. After Bruce Chen, their pitching was much worse. The Aussie bats may not have been at the level the Netherlands bats are, but if the Netherlands are facing pitchers who are good enough to make the American minor leagues, or the Japaneese/Cuban big leagues, and the Aussies were facing guys who weren’t even that good, you could argue that Australia was more likely to do well and was the right choice even if you didn’t factor in chalk. It would have been tougher for sure, because game theory still definitely matters so going with the non-chalky teams in this is generally good.

Luckily, last night the un-chalky teams, I felt, were also the better plays outright.

Agree completely. Tonight is a little more tricky but I think there’s still good non chalk plays

Now to figure out who plays the whole game and who comes out early. I can see Marte coming in to play LF at some point and not sure how long they trust Reyes at SS.

  • Tristanhoh

They’re decent, but stand 0 chance against Dominica.

  • mjsimpson24

    DR Lineup (3/8):
    1B Santana
    2B Cano
    3B Machado
    LF Bautista
    DH Cruz
    CF Marte
    SS Segura
    RF Polanco
    C Castillo

This is what DR played yesterday if you’re trying to figure out how they mix the players together

Santana is the craziest game theory play of the night since they put him at catcher. Prices are set up where a chalk DR stack + Gallardo/Martinez isn’t doable. So prices should matter some tonight.

  • Tristanhoh

    Marte is out.

  • Tristanhoh

Yeah pricing will definitely matter. Can’t build a DR stack with Martinez and Yovani.

Anybody doing anything besides stacking 1-5 for DR? I’d be very curious to hear why.

Yes I am in a few lineups. I like Cuba tonight and I think they will be lower owned, plus this will be their 3rd game already so they are in the flow of the tournament and playing a bad team.

Morneau hasn’t been that guy since like 2010.
