Any chance we get contests on DK for the WBC? Seems like a slim chance since they have never done spring training games but we did get Olympic golf and basketball contests as well as the fact that they run preseason NBA and NFL contests. Can’t wait for baseball to be back!

You guys played Pivetta and not Tehran? I rolled both everywhere. Just curious, who’s your SP2?

It’s not an all-day slate for nothing! That enough of a hint?

Haha fair, I just wasn’t choosing a guy pitching in Mexico when there’s two quality pitchers (well, Pivetta is just decent) going up against two weak offenses. I guess Marquis is fine, but Cuba has some firepower.

Why not in Mexico? Because of the size of park? Mexico offense doesn’t seem that scary outside of two players otherwise

Not Mexico’s offense. The location of the stadium. At about 2,000 meters (basically a mile) up in the air, the altitude is key. Coors Field-esque.

  • mjsimpson24

Why are there so many missing players? PUR + USA would be soooo nice if you could play Arenado.

Also can someone explain Entenza’s price? WTF is wrong with this slate.

Didn’t stop Seth Lugo from dealing last night.

Anyone have the link of where you can see projected/confirmed lineups?

Go ahead and play Miguel Gonzalez tonight then

  • VRod305

Finally found the Ven line up:

    Altuve
    Prado
    Miggy
    CarGo
    V-Mart
    Sal Perez
    Herrera
    Alcides Escobar
    Inciarte

  • VRod305

I’m hoping that game last night scared people from those bats. I loaded up.

Israel is low key a decent side. I’m not too bullish on him, he isn’t great.

  • Quest_File_037

Has the Italian line up been posted yet?

  • Jcudderlife

    Anybody playing Perez?

  • harrytruman3

Miguel Gonzalez was actually a good contact manager (certainly better than his stats suggested) and a good contact manager would be the type most likely to succeed in that environment (see T. Anderson with the Rox this year.) If his ownership is miniscule, he’s not a bad play IMHO. I’m not using him, but still I think ther’es merit.

  • mjsimpson24

No he’s not great, but he’s only 3,500. Having a starting pitcher priced lower than a reliever is stupid.

      RG Overall Ranking

Using Entenza or marquis may be the best play on the late slate. US and Dr are both stacked lineups where any pitcher could get lit up as volquez and stroman are good but both very capable of getting shelled. Pitchers in the second game are in a bad park and are both bad, PR is a very strong lineup as well. Also these two pitchers can throw 80 pitches if they are needed to, giving them theoretically more upside.

I just don’t think it’s as simple as good park= load up on bats from there.

  • ccrider22

    65 pitch limit

  • harrytruman3

I assume anyone who uses Miggy will be loading up on the expensive bats, which are mostly DR. Unless you underspend probably not much lineup differentiation (but then, Miggy probably will have low own.)

  • LuckyLuc3434

That park is something else though. The carry on a routine fly ball is ridiculous

  • mjsimpson24

I’m going to have a little bit of Gonzalez, but nothing compared to the other pitchers.

There’s already a 65 pitch limit which makes it a total crap shoot already, so why bother with a pitcher who has a way lower floor for zero upside is how I look at it.

Edit: This is coming from someone who played a lot of Lugo last night.

The pitch limit goes up to 80 for the 2nd round, which Cuba/Israel are in.

  • harrytruman3

I still wouldn’‘t use Cuba’s pitcher, even in a more friendly environment. He’s a finesse guy with not much K/BB to speak of, and Israel has proven pretty patient. Marquis is a finesse guy against a team that has shown it can K (I just don’t know how Wienstein plans to use him, possibly to keep him under the limit that would make him available for the third game.)

M-Gonz is fairly pitch to contact. Like Lugo, above average Zone strike % etc. Things could go awfully for him, but there’s a chance he has a Lugo-like outing. Like I said, not using him. I’d rather gamble on Stroman at, I assume not insane ownership, because he also pounds the zone, and I assume DR bats will be popular.
