Any chance we get contests on DK for the WBC? Seems like a slim chance since they have never done spring training games but we did get Olympic golf and basketball contests as well as the fact that they run preseason NBA and NFL contests. Can’t wait for baseball to be back!

I heard Ervin Santana is pitching next against the US. If there is a slate, I may put a few line ups in and load up on the US bats.

You do know that was yesterday, right?

Unless this went over my head.

Haha yeah I think I’m over 100% ROI this WBC! Started exercising pretty terrible bankroll management the last couple of days just to try to maximize my profit before this is all over. Actually max entered the $4 the last two days (which takes forever without any sort of lineup generator…) just to get as much as I could out.

If only things could stay the same for the MLB season we’d be rich.

I think I had my $27 entry in the $4 tourney, however I late swapped a couple things around in my $4 tourney which probably resulted in the lineups becoming different. At the start of the day I definitely always have my $27 lineups in all my other tourneys as well, and usually switch them together. I’m not exactly sure why I only swapped the $4 lineups yesterday.

Will be my first MLB regular season for DFS so I’m pretty excited for the big 15 game slates

Must have missed it. I thought I saw the tweet today. I’ll play the final slate if it’s appealing though.

Any word on who the Japan pitcher could be Tuesday?

Either going to be Ishikawa or Sugano. My guess is Ishikawa as he pitched games 1 and 4 for Japan, while Sugano pitched 2 and 5. Both were better in their first start than their second. From the little I’ve seen, Sugano has greater K upside.

That’s what I was thinking. I put Sugano in my initial lineup already. I do really like Sugano’s K potential > Ishikawa, so really hoping Sugano starts. It’s going to suck rooting against USA though haha

I threw a bunch of line ups in. Hoping to put together another nice slate before this is done and the regular season starts.

Did the same thing – was firing often and into all the different GPPs. Never did the cash games, probably lost out on equity by not doing those. But definitely can’t complain.

And yeah I’m well over 100% ROI. If the MLB season is even a tenth as profitable as the WBC was I will be thrilled.

What do we expect the lineups to look like for both teams tonight

Puerto Rico should be pretty standard to what they’ve been doing throughout the tournament (aside from their last game).
Netherlands the question always seems to be who is going to be catcher, but besides that you pretty much know who’s playing tonight. Their top 6 has stayed pretty much identical I think throughout

  • Jaws1002

I still do not see a pitcher for the Netherlands tonight. Anyone have that??

  • Jaws1002

Forget it I see they finally posted Van DenHurk

worldbaseballclassic.com will have them about 30 minutes before gametime. You can find it on twitter usually around an hour or two earlier than that as well.

  • LuckyLuc3434

Draftkings messed up on the contest sizes today.. the $4 is gonna fill within the next couple hours, and a bunch of the single entries have already filled.

  • VRod305

I saw the numbers last night when I put my entries in. Seems like maybe this is the final one, so they could have done a few extra contests or at least made them a little bigger.

Hopefully DK does a million dollar one to open the season two weeks from today.

Thanks, I’m thinking about going with Puerto Rico/ Netherlands hitters and taking both pitchers from the USA/Japan game

I’m not a big money player. I’m not good enough, but I’ll get in a big tournament on opening day. I feel like I have enough strategy down to do well.

The thing about big (talking about big in terms of number of players, not money) tourneys, say 100,000 people is not that they are any more difficult than a smaller 1000 person tourney — in fact you could probably argue that they are even softer.

However 10% of the prize pool will still go to first place, so essentially even though your EV would be the same for those tournaments, it will take longer for you to achieve your long term true win rate. The big win is bigger, but the number of losing entries that you will have in between each big win is a lot more also.

It’ll basically be the same idea as this except the chalk won’t be crazy high owned. I can barely even compare a 15 game slates to a 2 game slate.

If you’re enjoying these 2 gamers you will definitely love a 15 gamer. It’s so much better I hardly play tiny slates like this during the regular season.
