Any chance we get contests on DK for the WBC? Seems like a slim chance since they have never done spring training games but we did get Olympic golf and basketball contests as well as the fact that they run preseason NBA and NFL contests. Can’t wait for baseball to be back!
What 2 pitchers do we take here? USA and Japan? Or maybe PR? Someone help!!!!!
MLB will be nothing like WBC. The field will be much more informed. The two are not comparable from a DFS perspective.
Congrats to those of you who killed it in WBC.
…..
where the heck are the lineups????????????????
lineups here https://twitter.com/TodayintheMLB
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don’t remind me (about how much different MLB play will be).
I think there is some comparision to some of the random 2-game MLB slates (like express or turbo) in terms of GTO, but yes, in terms of softness and players routinely making obscenely hilarious mistakes like 15% playing a guy not in the lineup, that’s not going to happen – at best it’ll happen once in a blue moon in MLB.
Lopez was not a good choice
Lopez was the best choice, but it’s baseball
Part of the edge has to do with DK not providing users with the green check mark. Would you guys prefer they do that in the regular season also?
That’s miniscule compared to the timing of lineups. Standard MLB practice is two hours…some of these WBC games were two minutes.
No good DFS MLB guys go by the DK green check mark. They get their lineups elsewhere.
Apparently not Rick Van Den Hurk. Good God that was a bad decision.
It’s also a lot more difficult for WBC because of the times. For regular MLB, games are going to start at 1 or 7. It’s not going to be 4:30 AM or 6 AM or 6PM.
While this was fun, definitely excited for opening day though.
I’m sitting at 48 points with a USA stack of Roark, hosmer, arenado, jones, yelich, I hope I cash, but I’m not holding my breath
12 MORE DAYS
Then why wouldn’t you swap your guys for some lower owned players?
Holding out some hope for a rainout tonight. DK rules would mean that the contest results would stand as is as a 1 game contest if the game gets postponed until tomorrow.
Have one great lineup right now, but most of my lineups are duds and it will likely be a losing evening for me if the game is played
My best shot at winning something is sitting at 75.25 with a P, C, 1B, and SS spot left. Not expecting to win big, but hoping it can allow me to profit atleast.
Will wait for lineups to fill those spots I guess, and need to find a low owned pitcher option .
I saw u sitting at the top of the 4$ contest again! Nice work
LuckyLuc…. if you get a rain out in Los Angeles where it never rains, and I just checked the weather there and you do have a shot, you definitely will have earned that name Lucky haha. Good Luck.
Wouldn’t DK have to refund everyone since legally, you can’t run a one game slate?
I thought the same thing. I really think they changed this at some point because I definitely thought if it was one game it had to be refunded.
Example: If a Draft Group includes two games at 8pm ET and 10:30pm ET respectively, and the 10:30pm ET game is officially postponed at 6pm ET then all contests for that Draft Group are canceled and refunded. If the 10:30pm ET game was not officially postponed until after 8pm ET then contests for that Draft Group are not canceled and are played out using only the one active game.
According to their rules, as long as the 2nd game is cancelled after the start of the first game then the contest stands.
I.e as long as it was thought to be a 2 game slate when the first game started then the contest is allowed.
I always make sure to familiarize myself with rainout/cancellation rules before playing any slate with a chance of a rainout. I didn’t change much this slate since the chance of a rainout is very low, but my biggest win I’ve had was in the playoffs last year on FD when I anticipated the Red Sox Indians game being rained out and stacked the other 2 games.
I probably will after lineups come out
I just need it so that one of the two pitchers get bombed. There are enough stacks with both pitchers from this game that if both do modestly well (let’s say, 8 FP each), I’m doomed.
I have a few solid stacks with USA bats and Roark, and a few with Japan and Sugano. If either pitcher does well and the other doesn’t, then I can probably pull some decent wins out.
But if both Roark and Sugano do well (a combo I do not have any of), yeah it’s over.
