Any chance we get contests on DK for the WBC? Seems like a slim chance since they have never done spring training games but we did get Olympic golf and basketball contests as well as the fact that they run preseason NBA and NFL contests. Can’t wait for baseball to be back!
plus the gpp sizes are down, limiting the overlay that was there yesterday
That’s my fear. Yesterday was probably the best time to cash in. First DK WBC slate ever.
Edge will now diminish exponentially.
Should’ve stacked Israel ugh!
So are there lineups out yet? Seems impossible to make a roster without any info on lineups with such a big player pool

Good points. Last night truly was the perfect storm. It still wouldn’t surprise me if there are enough “dead” lineups tonight to at least cover the rake.

Games don’t start for another 7-12 hours so we probably won’t get lineups until later tonight. The starts times make it challenging to build rosters, which is where an edge is gained.
Lineups will be out about an hour prior to first pitch. Set your alarms.
I would think you just have to look at last nights lineups if you do not want to get up that early. I do not think many teams will change things up.
I actually planned on waking up to adjust line ups and didn’t wake up. All six guys ended up playing. Thank God Fredi Gonzalez wasn’t managing or I would have been screwed.
Researching these players is actually kinda fun. Never thought I’d be typing something as generic as “Curt Smith Baseball” into google. I feel like a kid on Easter morning.
For those of us who follow international baseball at nearly all levels, it’s great, especially because stats and scouting are two different things. It’s also nice when you encounter a guy you hadn’t heard of despite all this who is actually super interesting. Burcham, for instance, looks like a guy who could be a glove first SS with the ceiling of being a slightly below league average guy. You don’t usually think that when you just see a 22 year old low A shortstop who generally doesn’t make even the deepest organizational prospect lists.
I finished 1-2 in the $4 GPP – 4 each from Israel and Japan finished in first, and then 5 from Japan, 2 from the Netherlands and 1 from Israel finished in 2nd.
So it was actually Japan that was the key – especially using Matsuda at 3B, because Xander was somethign like 88% owned and Matsuda dropped a 38-spot.
I should’ve faded Xander. I figured the correlation of Wlad and Xander was worth more than what would be Xander’s high ownership. (I still never imagined it would be THAT close to 100% ownership.) Matsuda was the only other 3B I remotely considered, and that would’ve given me a 5 person Japan stack. I ruled it out because I figured full stacks would be popular and with that small a field you don’t need that to win. Oops. (Never would’ve started Baker in 100 years though, which was the other roadblock to winning.)
I didn’t use Baker. Hurk and Ishikawa still put up decent numbers (10 and 11, respectively, I believe), compared to Baker’s 18, so it wasn’t a huge roadblock. Matsuda, on the other hand…
I wouldn’t totally write Rowland-Smith off in that he was solid in his tiny bit of MLB action in 2014 and was above average in AAA in 2012-2013. The defense behind him should be bad, and I don’t expect him to put up the points to be usable, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he at least caps Japan’s upside a bit, versus what I’m guessing will be massive ownership?
Matsuda was the key and I see no reason why the Japanese players won’t be the best plays again tonight.
Starting picthers?

Building tonight’s lineups and I find myself not needing to pay up for the highest priced hitters. Does anyone else? I think most of the Netherland’s bats are overpriced at this stage of pricing.
After completely shitting the bed last night, I’m going right back to the Netherlands MLB Bats. Schoop+Gregorious+Xander+Andrelton+Jurickson ummm yes please.
Who’s pitching for the first game
I’ve got Zarraga, and hate to give that away. Assuming he starts, he’s the sort of guy no one knows who’ll probably be in the bottom 3rd, who I think is the best offensive catcher today, in the same way that it was Lavarnway yesterday. Hope I don’t change anyone’s lineup now.
is Ricardo C for Ned tonight
Is there late swal
