The soccer forums have been dead for a while, so why not start up a World Cup talk before it actually begins.
Here are the odds to take it:
Germany 4/1
Brazil 4/1
France 6/1
Spain 6/1
Argentina 7/1
Belgium 10/1
England 20/1
Portugal 20/1
Uruguay 25/1
Poland 30/1
Colombia 40/1
Russia 40/1
Croatia 40/1
Saudi Arabia 1000/1
And here’s a concise article previewing the whole tournament – 2018 World Cup Preview
Let’s start the debate!
Lol. Saw there was overlay in the $2 showdown match today with 5 mins to go.. jumped in… didnt know scoring system… didnt know any players… didnt even know who russia was playing…. took a peak at a starting lineup… figured ok russia goalie for shutout, a forward thats not the highest paid, two midfielders to pass it around, and one midfield guy on the other team….
57th place out of 47,000. DFS is so freaking weird.
Within 30 minutes of the kick-off go to www.flashscore.com – Click on the match and go to line ups – it will have the expected formation.
In the line ups page of DraftKIngs starters will be denoted with a green tick.
Find it hard to believe all those contests tomorrow are going to come close to filling.
I really don’t want to commit a ton of money on the first proper day but hard to turn down amazing value.
Ignashevich retired from international play but he’s still the starting center back for a Champions League team. He’s slow, for sure, but there’ll be a lot worse players than him in this WC.
Put the Saudis in Serie B and they’d be relegated in short order. They loaned some of their players to Spanish clubs this year to try to get them some experience abroad (every single player on the national team plays for a Saudi club) but they all sat on the bench. I think Fahad got on for about 20 minutes this year for Levante; that’s it.
I don’t think the phones are going to be ringing after this month, either.
Salman Al Faraj has impressed me for Saudi, but they are the worst team in the Cup by far in my eyes.
Which Iranian center back is the question
Edit: after researching a bit Iran has a couple interesting pieces:
Alireza Jahanbakhsh – looks like a very good young player… granted he plays in Eredivisie where defense is optional but definitely worth a look.
Sardar Azmoun – Rubin Kazan player, had a couple goals in limited appearances. Will most likely run thru the center. If you’re not buying Morocco definitely a place to look
Alright I’m gonna stop talking about Iran before homeland security calls
Thank you kind sir
You giving a detailed description and why you might recommend a guy named Alireza Jahanabakhsh sums up gambling addiction lol.
Does anyone have any recommendations for defensive players for tomorrows games? I have no idea what to even look for with that.
Anyone know if there is late swap on DK for soccer?

this is also where I’m starting, first Iranian national to win a non-domestic scoring race, he tore up Holland this past season, have no problem using him. I highly recommend Tifo Football on youtube, they have some amazing team breakdowns, really good one on Iran.
I’m just leveling with everyone, but Iran and Morocco are not bad teams. They just happen to be in a nightmare group.
My second article has been posted, Top 5 Surprise Teams to Play and Fade
Iran are in there for sure, everyone give it a read, should really help with tougher decisions.

considering how expensive and unreliable the Spanish and Portugese will be against each other, I will be using a lot of Morocco or Iran defensive, Uruguay attacking.
Blogger of the Month
which site?
DK yes.
Quick question. I noticed on draft kings they give points for crosses but not for clearances. On fanduel they give points for clearances but not for crosses. Are clearances and crosses the same thing? I apologize for being unaware of all the terms.
And what is a chance created? Seems subjective?
Blogger of the Month
nope.
Clearances come from crosses. If someone makes a cross and it is headed away, the heading away is a clearance. I’m not as frequent on FD, but positive that’s the answer lol.
Hope that helps.
Lineups are minutes away for Egypt/Uruguay!
EDIT: Lineups are out!
I imagine if you pass (or cross) the ball to someone who has a shot on or off target you have created a chance.
A few cheap midfield options for Uruguay not really sure I like any of them though. I suppose Nandez is the guy.
Not stacking Cavani / Suarez. One or the other.

I sure don’t. When the two guys on the bench are so obscenely better (real life and DFS), it’s only a matter of time before one or both only get 55-60min before coming off for Rodriguez/Sanchez. Really upset, Sanchez was a cash lock for me today.
Elneny is making some of my cards for sure, he should be taking Egypt’s set pieces with no Salah. Said should be up there too.
Hard not to take both Suarez and Cavani.
Listen i know they’re barely going to touch the ball… but Ronaldo might be the hardest fade in DFS

toot my own horn and plug my content, but check out my blog post about teams to fade. I think Portugal are on their way down and warrant tons of awesome fades, especially today.
Any value you guys like at 3.4K on DK?

Eleny, takng set pieces for Salah.
Or find $200 more and take Jiminez, who should be 4.5k.
How dumb would it be to play Elena with the Uraguay GK
