is this going to be a thing?

anyone seen any official word from any of the sites?

  • thedkexperience

Personally I’m relying on the following for the first few weeks.

1 – the coach. A lot of these coaches have 20 years of running the same offense. Gilbride is going to run an Eli Manning circa 2011 type offense. June Jones and Hal Mumme are gonna be June Jones and Hal Mumme.

2 – the QB. I’m gonna ignore how these guys looked in the NFL for the most part and focus on how they were viewed coming out of college. In a case where they are playing in the same offense as they did in college all the better.

3 – As pointed out above I’ve been looking at reviews of AAF standouts. I didn’t watch most of those games but I’d imagine it would translate.

4 – Assume that the line play will be garbage on both sides effectively rendering it a moot point.

5 – put all of this together and in expecting the offenses to be way ahead of the defenses so I’m going to load up on the pass wacky coaches for the time being.

All else fails … throw a dart because it can’t possibly be harder than NBA DFS!

With the rules about illegal man downfield, the O-lines will be able to just run block without getting called for a penalty

Looking over the rules, and they allow double forward passes which aren’t allowed in NFL or NCAA.

The rationale is that the double pass is one of the most exciting plays in football.

Silly question, but what are they passing that on if it’s not allowed in the NFL or NCAA?

  • JH822547

“What are they basing it on” – right?

Well stuff like that one where Randy Moss flipped it over his head or when Boise State won that bowl game.

    Or this from Central Michigan

So now the second pass can be forward. Of course it’s daft.

I do-won 19 so far. I’m trying to win more by this Saturday

  • manBEAST

Kind of disappointed at the lack of size in the single entry on 4 game slates, but I’d rather play this than any of the other sports going on now!

This is going to be interesting. I’ve listened to a lot of podcast and read up on about everything I can. I am curious how highly owned the expensive big name receivers will be and if they will be worth it. There is going to be a ton of 3-4K receivers starting which is good value to fill lineups with. Also how much is name recognition going to effect ownership percentages

had a free ticket to the ten dollar contest. I literally did zero research -it was like playing lotto-if a saw a guy i knew from the NFL I threw him in..

  • manBEAST

Any other sites offering XFL contests besides FD and DK?

  • salarycapfantasy

Everyone ready for some good XFL fantasy? As far as edge the xfl site itself has updated with depth charts per team and also injury reports that list people out. The depth reports seem to be week to week and bump down people who are not ready. Overall, it is good info but still not sure if there are committees or time share because you can’t really tell just from a depth chart.

    Anyone on Pumphrey?

    $14 left over on FD

Well, I kinda put something together with my lineups-I don’t know what. Watch me finish dead last, lol! I hate new startup leagues because I don’t know anything about anyone except for staying away from Ross (I think he’s the one they were talking about that wasn’t drafted to the NFL because he couldn’t catch for shit and then bounced to the XFL. They were saying that if he’s having a catching problem now, it’s not going to get better in the XFL).

Is this a passing or running league? Its probably easier on DK to find reliable RBs than pick the correct WR4 off each team

I know absolutely nothing about him, but he is one of my flex spots.

It’s going to be a fast paced league due to the running clock and 25 second play clock. I think the difference between running and passing will be coach dependent. For my money I expect the high volume passing game coaches to dominate this first season.

As for the RB vs WR question, I leaned heavy on former NFL players at RB/Flex and just let system/price fill out the rest.

    Also …

  • monarch

I agree. I keep hearing that it’s supposed to be soft. I don’t think anyone has any idea. I think Cardale Jones will be chalk because on name factor but I like McGloin and whoever the QB for June Jones is.

  • homers1226

    anyone on q flowers ?

    with the 2x pass rule

seems like all the contest are filling ,not what i would have thought

  • Wynter12

Low key kind of anxious lol You don’t get many chances to have so many unknown variables and such a big edge. Gotta capitalize asap before people have data to collect.
