Yahoo is getting in the holiday spirit with a $1M prize pool contest for NFL Week 15, including $250K in GUARANTEED overlay. I suspect actual overlay will be much more, but hopefully not too much more so we can run this a few more times this season. We’re looking forward to a fun 2019 across Yahoo Fantasy, and wanted to end 2018 with a bang.
Click here when making your first deposit and use promo code ‘grinders30’ to get $30 worth of free play, and as always feel free to reach out with any questions or feedback.
Dan
P.S. Sorry, we still don’t operate in FL and Canada.
Grrrr….
Is the refer a friend option still refer someone and you each get 2000 ysrp points or if you refer a friend can that friend get $30 as well. Dont worry RG my friend has no idea about your site!
How about Delaware?
Yahoo Representative
The person being referred can still manually enter the ‘grinders30’ promo code to get $30 worth of entry fees (6000 YSRP). The referrer will still get 2000 YSRP.
Or Missouri? Nope
There are twelve states where you cannot play yet
Im in Missouri its weird that ican play on dk and fanduel but not yahoo lmao
You are at least 18 years of age (19, if located in NE or 21, if located in MA);
You are a resident of the District of Columbia or the fifty United States, except for residents of Alabama, Arizona, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Louisiana, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, and Washington (collectively, the โEligibility Areaโ);
This is amazing, thank you. Hopefully I can avoid whiffing with my 10 entries
daniel can you explain your tax rules as i joined but found out every win regardless was considered taxable regardless of money spent..IE if i spent 3000 and won 3000 grand on most sites that would be zero net and no 1099. On Yahoo i was told the 1099 would be for 3k…can you clarify as i would be interested in trying the site again
https://help.yahoo.com/kb/daily-fantasy/-k-tax-sln22704.html you were given wrong info
Yahoo Representative
The next poster answered this already, but yeah—who told you this info about Yahoo? It’s incorrect:
https://help.yahoo.com/kb/daily-fantasy/-k-tax-sln22704.html.
paypal sends the 1099? what is the criteria? i was given the wrong info by YAhoo then as i always ask that question first when joining a site…The info you posted really is of no value…can you just explain like every other site does what will trigger a 1099? is it the standard 600 Net? Every site is required by law to send a 1099 if you meet that threshold but not sure about yahoo.
If you could in very plain generic speak spell out your policy without posting links it would be a good time with a new year upcoming…again please clarify what this means….If you meet certain income criteria,
Well I was about to go deposit and play this milly with over lay!!!! But PayPal is the only option on deposits!!!!! So I wont be playing ๐
Yahoo Representative
The info from the help article says the following below. The summary is that we don’t send 1099s.
“How do I get a 1099-K tax form?
Yahoo Sports doesn’t provide tax reporting information.
If you meet certain income criteria, you should receive IRS Form 1099-K from PayPal, our payments processor.
It’s your responsibility to report your income to the Internal Revenue Service. For more information, please visit their website.”
This is awesome Daniel, made the switch back to Yahoo a few weeks ago & I’m enjoying it more than I ever did on FD or DK. Hope u guys continue to grow.
I wish you folks at Yahoo would stop being such cheap bastards and pay the State of Delaware the fees necessary to allow us to play. I mean, it’s not like you guys are a little startup that cannot afford it.
Also, WTF is with your eligibilty policy being based on residence versus physical presence?
Even when DK and FD were banned in Delaware, I was able to drive into Pennsylvania and enter my lus. No dice with you guys.
Yahoo is my fav platform, it has a nice blend of excellent features and fair play. Wish I could have played this contest, great offer. Just a question to Daniel Haight, UK based player and will love to play the Yahoo Cup’s specially the one for Golf coming up in the new year, problem is to enter to Yahoo Cup looks prohibited to UK players while it says in the terms UK player can play in the Yahoo Cup. If that can be fixed and we can enter Yahoo cup that will be great. Thank you.
I’m sure calling them cheap bastards will help the cause for you.
Anyway yahoo extends the promo code grinders30 to users who haven’t deposited since last NFL season?
Or offer a reload bonus code for existing customers?
Why market “fair play” when you let chipotleaddict and papagates openly cheat just like every other site?
So how are they cheating?
Agree. Since they started, I’ve suspected that Yahoo is playing the long game, and within a couple years I think they will be the most popular site while DK and FD will be shells of their former selves. Yahoo never got involved in the crazy advertising like DK and FD did, or the dependency on sharks, both of which are short-term gain, but long-term pain for DFS.
use google or export some csvs and look yourself.
yahoo only allows up to 10 entries max. just wish prizes were bigger but i think that will happen in a few years.
