  • Hey folks, today we at Yahoo Sports are proud to be raising our Fantasy game to the next level and giving you the chance to crown a champion every single day — presenting Yahoo Sports Daily Fantasy: one-day and one-week fantasy contests for cash prizes.

Daily Fantasy is designed for you to play with your friends on any device and win real cash prizes, whether you’re a seasoned Yahoo Fantasy player or new to the game. A simplified salary cap, along with real-time sports news and scores from Yahoo’s Fantasy experts, makes setting up your line-up and joining in daily fantasy contests fast and easy.

I wanted to personally invite you all to try out some of our MLB contests beginning today. Entry fees range from free to $500, with options all throughout including $1, $2, $5, $10, $25, $50, $100, and $250.

We’re offering four primary types of contests at launch to give you a variety of ways to compete for prizes:

    • Head-to-Head: One opponent, winner take all.
    • Group: Play against small or large groups of opponents.
    • 50/50: Top half of entrants win.
    • Guaranteed to Run: Will run even if unfilled, often with large prize pools (tomorrow we’re running an MLB contest with $50,000 in prizes!)

We plan to offer all the 4 major US sports including baseball, football, basketball and hockey as their seasons begin and we’ll explore others based on demand.

Daily Fantasy is easy to play within the Yahoo Fantasy app on iPhone or on any device through your browser.

If you already have a Yahoo account you are ready to play Yahoo Daily Fantasy! If you are interested in participating in paid entry contests you can deposit money to your Yahoo Fantasy Wallet using Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, or PayPal. The Fantasy Wallet is shared across all of our Fantasy Sports offerings including pro leagues for added convenience.

So head over to sports.yahoo.com/dailyfantasy to get started! We’re running a totally free to enter MLB contest tomorrow that will pay the winner $1,000.

The Yahoo site is not built user friendly for an automation scenario and I believe that this was done on purpose.

sorry man i just think this is a massive stretch, a export button with a captcha adds a extra step a script cant tackle and a human easily can, there product is just not well made at all.

My crystal ball sees a crash coming the 1st week of NFL before the first games lock!

Their site has been down twice today. Right now, Rockies players’ stats aren’t updating and it won’t let me enter tomorrow’s contests.

It appears they dont process their paypal withdraw on the weekends, guess Sports arent popular on weekends, why have someone work?

  • 8MileAllstars

Are they ever going to update CarGo’s numbers?

  • EadesScience

And after I bragged on them my players are not updating as well…Karma sucks

I really don’t think dfs is as important to yahoo as it is to everyone here. Even though yahoo does have a ton of money to throw around, how much of it do we think is really being used for this? They have much more important things to do than spend all of their time, effort, and money on a dfs site.

nope, apparently they took the weekend off

Hi Klock, Hoss and others – We have a service level of two business days for withdrawals, although it will often be much faster. This is in line with our competitors in the DFS industry.

Yahoo, how is Zack Greinke not even in the player pool for tomorrow???

Yup. Big error on our part that has been resolved. Sorry about that.

  • EadesScience

Guess who won a cool 1000 yesterday on Yahoo? SNOTROCKETS

My first fairly substantial payday since playing Yahoo. Used 7 entries and the winning lineup consisted of a Boston 6 player stack handcuffed to Carlos Gonzales

  • Putz

Yahoo, you ran a $2 guaranteed double up tonight, and now tomorrow, nothing less than a $10 guaranteed double up. Two of your $10 double ups sold out tonight and the $2 as well, so we know there is demand. How about some $1, $2, and $5 guaranteed double ups?

  • Putz

Yahoo, can you guys wake up? This is the 2nd biggest night of the week for MLB DFS with a complete slate of games, and you have minimal GPPs and few double ups. Are you guys aware of the MLB schedule each week? For some reason, the $1 and $5 GPPs that rarely fill were replicated and each are listed twice. Good luck!

I think this is one of the bigger problems Yahoo is having. They don’t seem to have any idea what to offer to us to play. Add in the fact that their GPP payout structure is easily the worst in the industry.

It’s crazy how Yahoo went about entering the market. Don’t they see how big their competitors are going?

It feels like Yahoo is being run by a dfs player trying to make just enough money to move out of their grandma’s basement.

because their focus is football. they dont really care about baseball, its being used as a soft opening for football.

How do you know this? Even if that was true there is no reason for them to be this bad

because it makes way more sense. if they cared about baseball they would have started at the beginning of the year plus the majority of their current player base is football season long.. they def could be better, tho i havnt played on there since the first couple days, but i figure they are just treating these couple months as a beta test

  • Putz

Yahoo finally flattened their payout structure in their $5 GPPs. Nice little experiment on the sheep. The top heavy $5 sold more seats even though both were posted at the same time in their lobby. I guess the sheep love going for that too heavy $1k top prize than the $500 top prize. Neither sold out. The new structure…

    PRIZE PAYOUTS

    1st $500.00
    2nd $250.00
    3rd $175.00
    4th $125.00
    5th $100.00
    6th – 7th $95.00
    8th – 9th $65.00
    10th – 12th $50.00
    13th – 16th $40.00
    17th – 22nd $30.00
    23rd – 30th $25.00
    31st – 41st $20.00
    42nd – 77th $15.00
    78th – 285th $10.00

Mattingly’s late scratch of Kershaw just screwed over those of us who mass entered tonight. I was about the hit the overlay in their $5 $25,000 tournament right before this happened and it took me 50 minutes to change my existing lineups. I feel for those of you who had tons of lineups.

I had 4 lineups putz and took almost 20 mins with salary adjustment etc. Yahoo needs to put into place export and import option

50 max entry tonight not good for me.

  • Putz

It’s another weekend at Yahoo.. Looks like they not only don’t pay out PayPal withdraws, they also don’t finalize contests and get $$ back into your account. Good thing they are working out these issues during beta now.

  • JHols1nger

Kershaw should never be the 6th priced pitcher. That might be the most egregious salary error I have ever seen.

It was nothing compared to $30 Scherzer (3rd cheapest) after his start was moved back before the all-star break.
