  • Hey folks, today we at Yahoo Sports are proud to be raising our Fantasy game to the next level and giving you the chance to crown a champion every single day — presenting Yahoo Sports Daily Fantasy: one-day and one-week fantasy contests for cash prizes.

Daily Fantasy is designed for you to play with your friends on any device and win real cash prizes, whether you’re a seasoned Yahoo Fantasy player or new to the game. A simplified salary cap, along with real-time sports news and scores from Yahoo’s Fantasy experts, makes setting up your line-up and joining in daily fantasy contests fast and easy.

I wanted to personally invite you all to try out some of our MLB contests beginning today. Entry fees range from free to $500, with options all throughout including $1, $2, $5, $10, $25, $50, $100, and $250.

We’re offering four primary types of contests at launch to give you a variety of ways to compete for prizes:

    • Head-to-Head: One opponent, winner take all.
    • Group: Play against small or large groups of opponents.
    • 50/50: Top half of entrants win.
    • Guaranteed to Run: Will run even if unfilled, often with large prize pools (tomorrow we’re running an MLB contest with $50,000 in prizes!)

We plan to offer all the 4 major US sports including baseball, football, basketball and hockey as their seasons begin and we’ll explore others based on demand.

Daily Fantasy is easy to play within the Yahoo Fantasy app on iPhone or on any device through your browser.

If you already have a Yahoo account you are ready to play Yahoo Daily Fantasy! If you are interested in participating in paid entry contests you can deposit money to your Yahoo Fantasy Wallet using Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, or PayPal. The Fantasy Wallet is shared across all of our Fantasy Sports offerings including pro leagues for added convenience.

So head over to sports.yahoo.com/dailyfantasy to get started! We’re running a totally free to enter MLB contest tomorrow that will pay the winner $1,000.

Please feel free to comment here with any questions, feature suggestions, or other feedback. Additionally, you can check out our Daily Fantasy Help section.

Thanks again for your continued support of Yahoo Sports!

No player ownership %, no deposit bonuses, no bonuses for referrals, leaderboards for contests are pretty bad, not many cash games to choose from, no export or global swap, no snake drafts or anything original.

There’s some stuff they need to work on. Interface looks good though.

Since you offer fantasy golf on your regular site, any plans on offering PGA games in the future?

If there legal team is being cautious and excluding a entire country of users that fall in a DFS grey area, I wouldn’t get my hopes up.

  • ataggart

Late swap doesn’t work..? I am trying to swap out Kike in a lineup and I click save changes and nothing happens. Sigh.

Where can I find the scoring rules for football??

Will there be withdrawal options other than paypal in the future?

Had a dispute on paypal years ago and have shunned them since. May need to call them and rectify but just tried making a new account (can’t even remember old login) and they said my CC is already attached to an account.

    Sigh.

have used Yahoo products in the past and support has always been HORRIBLE

This^^^^ yahoo support for season long is incredibly atrocious. I think this will be the biggest issue going forward e cause I doubt dfs gets its own personal support team but I could be wrong

  • detroittigers44

The biggest frustration now was just missing out on the action for tonight… My lineup, Kershaw, Porcello, Jaso, Bour, Giavotella, Lawrie, Ahmed, Trout, Pollock, Ellsbury…. I have no idea where that would have placed me in any of the contests.. I entered the freeroll with a dummy lineup this afternoon and got left with that, I will get my $1 out of it… I tried entering both the $2 and the $1 tourney’s with this same lineup… Oh well, I will play the freeroll and try again tomorrow.

Am I the only person wanting some sort of export to csv considering copy/paste isn’t possible on their interface?

Yahoo is 5 years behind on this. Their daily fantasy game would have worked back then, pretty much as soon as they started having auction drafts for season long leagues, they should have come out with what they just came out with today. People in season long auction draft leagues would have LOVED it. But it’s been 5 years, and DFS sites have come up with a good way to do DFS, and yahoo seems to want everyone to jump back to 5 years ago and marvel at the excitement of DAILY auction draft leagues, as if anyone who is joining it hasn’t already tried fanduel or draftkings or w/e.

Let me repeat, there isn’t a single yahoo season long player who hasn’t tried DFS already on a non-yahoo site. So for yahoo, the main problem is their timing. They should have thought of this sooner, cuz now it’s kind of pointless.

Your sensationalism is just a wee bit over the top here.

To piggyback on what Emac said, I played in two regular season-long leagues on Yahoo. Of the 20-25 people in those leagues, 2 of us have tried DFS. Two.
