I don’t if this already exists, but I was thinking with all of the great minds on here that we should make a list of players to NEVER play! Like under no circumstances because they are not worth the risk or are just one tool players. If they beat you so be it. I think this could be very beneficial to everyone here, so we don’t get burnt as much. I’ll start with some off the top of my head:

    FRANK KAMINSKY
    MARCUS MORRIS
    MARKIEFF MORRIS
    KCP
    DANNY GREEN
    TY LAWSON

I definitely have more, but those are some that popped in to my head. Look forward to the responses, keep grinding!

list is surprisingly long especially since im not even a bitter guy, but most of these guys got multiple chances to impress

    Wade Baldwin IV – 10/31/2016
    Demarre Carroll – 11/1/2016
    Kyle Korver – 11/1/2016
    Dante Cunningham – 11/1/2016
    Robert Covington – 11/14/2016
    Kelly Olynyk – 11/15/2016, 11/17/2016
    Terrence Ross – 11/22/2016
    • Kyle O’Quinn – 11/23/2016
    Thaddeus Young 12/1/2016
    Klay Thompson – 12/2/2016

i hope no one takes this as me being a bitter whiny player, i just gotta think twice or thrice before i play a guy on this list. and i do take guys off only to put em right back on

I wonder what the percentage of profit you immediately cut yourself out of when you put a “Never Again” stamp on a player. I’ve been burned by Carmelo Anthony so many times, but I only see that as a potential advantage somewhere down the line when he is in fact in a good position, and everyone else has written him off as a waste of time.

Could be just me though, and I’m far from an expert at this.

I’m sure technically this is true, as it’s all situational given slate size, pricing, other value, etc.

But still… it’s really, really hard to pull the trigger on guys who consistently burn you. I’m pretty sure Josh Smith has a DFS shrine built to him for being “that guy” for about five years.

I think these lists are useless without reasons. He burned me isn’t a real reason.

Two guys who have burned me a few times, off the top of my head are KCP and Drummond. They’ve also come through for me. Ditto with Kawhi. That’s just good or bad luck. The legit reasons to not play a guy are an inability to trust his minutes/role/usage, or a feeling that his price doesn’t match his production.

For example, I tend to not play the Denver bigs because I can’t get a handle on rotations.

I tend to not play guys who don’t really put up peripheral stats – Crawford, Reddick, even Klay.

I don’t play minimum guys who are spot starting unless they can give me a reason to believe that they are capable of scoring at least in the upper 20s.

Obviously not NBA, but the opposite of that is Philly Brown who won me a large GPP early last season. He has lost a lot of it back for me since then. I just can’t pass him up if I need a 3k scrub. He should be on everyone’s NFL do not play list but I can’t help myself.

Kawhi Leonard at 8k anything is unplayable

I took Derozan AGAIN tonight. He KEEPS on burning me!

its almost impossible to create a list like this and NOT get burned..i saw KCP on the list above and he has gone for 30+ for 3 games in a row and the first time you fade the Brow guarantee he has one of his 75 burgers….its all about multiple entries (many of them)…check the leaderboard for some of the high buyin tourneys last night…the so-called “sharks” have just as many non-cash lineups than cashed lineups

  • glloyd95

Dwight Howard sure if it’s because of his crybaby tendencies or when I have played him(burn city)…plus I’m a laker fan…

I’m loyal to my Panthers WR’s. Ted Ginn and Philly… I keep trying to yank Jericho’s Cotch some more but he’s never listed on DraftKings.

I try not to hold grudges against players just because they burn me. Gotta have a short memory in general with NBA DFS.

That said Lamarcus Aldridge just burned me the other night. Just happen to think he’s overpriced by at least $500 on FD and will not touch him again until he’s under $6k. I think “do not play” lists are ok if the players are overvalued and prices are slow to adjust.

Also, it often has more to do with the coach than anything, as it’s clear that most of these guys are coming from only a handful of different teams.

  • vick325

Cj miles, Jj redick and kaminsky are on my never again list

I don’t think people really mean it when they say “never again”.
    It’s like saying LambGOAT.
Obviously Lamb is not the GOAT but……

Never again for me usually means PlayerX is $6500 when he should be $5k, so until….never again

I agree with those. Olynyk and Afflalo are terrible but have 1 or 2 games a year that hurt you if you don’t play them. Parker always seems to be in the 4-4500 range and always seems to get 20 fantasy points which does you no good.

  • captmonk1

Kyle Korvor, Omri Caspi, Paul Milsaps, Marco Belinelli, Lamarcus Aldridge,. Right now Rodney Hood and Harrison Barnes are on the bubble.

  • KindGuy

Josh Huestis. That dude ALWAYS puts up a dude when I roster him.
