Pitcher Grind Down
- Christian Bergman – On a night with a full slate of pitching options, we don’t need to waste a ton of time on Bergman. He is a below average righty with a 6.75 ERA on the season. While the Diamondbacks do have a depleted offense, I like their chances to put up some runs on Bergman. Rating = 4
Salaries: $5000 FD, $8750 DD, $5400 DK, $NA FF, $NA SS, $8750 FTD
- Josh Collmenter – Collmenter has pitched well at home this season with a 2.90 ERA, but he does have a somewhat limited upside as he is only averaging 6.2 K’s per 9 innings. It’s not going to hurt you to fade Collmenter tonight as he is not a popular pick in daily fantasy. I know the Rockies have struggled on the road this season, but they are still a talented offense and this game will be played in the hitter-friendly Chase Field. Rating = 5
Salaries: $6800 FD, $11450 DD, $6400 DK, $ FF, $ SS, $11450 FTD

Corey Dickerson – Another matchup against a mediocre RH pitcher and another spot for Dickerson in the featured plays. He has been terrific against righties this season with a .323 batting average and a .415 wOBA.
Additional Plays: Justin Morneau, Charlie Blackmon
Arizona
Ender Inciarte – I always like targeting cheap speedy guys in cash games. Not only do they have high OBP, but they give you the added bonus of a potential stolen base. Inciarte has hit RH pitching well this season and is one of the better value plays in the OF.
Additional Plays: David Peralta, Miguel Montero

Pitcher Grind Down
- Jon Lester – Lester is having a career year. He owns a 2.53 ERA with a K/9 of 9.2. What’s more impressive is the fact that he is giving up a career low in walks (1.9) and HR’s (0.6) per 9 innings. He’s one of the few pitchers that I don’t mind targeting in tough matchups, but I’m not sure that you need to do that tonight as there are a few other aces on the mound. Lester is facing an Angels offense that is ranked 3rd in wOBA vs. LH pitching. Rating = 6.5
Salaries: $10000 FD, $20550 DD, $11900 DK, $NA FF, $NA SS, $20550 FTD
- Jered Weaver – Weaver loves him some home cooking. He owns a terrific 2.89 ERA at home this season while holding his opponents to a .219 batting average. He’s not the same pitcher that he used to be, but he still has a decent K/9 of 6.9. His matchup against the A’s isn’t ideal, but they have been pretty bad offensively lately. They are ranked 21st in team wOBA over the last 30 days. Rating = 6.5
Salaries: $7500 FD, $14550 DD, $7500 DK, $ FF, $ SS, $14550 FTD

Oakland
There really aren’t any options that stand out here. Weaver has really pitched well at home this season and actually has pretty good numbers against the A’s in his career.
LA Angels
Mike Trout – Trout has a way of playing good in bad matchups and letting us down in favorable matchups. I have a feeling that’s going to be the case tonight as he takes on an elite pitcher in Lester. Trout has been swinging a hot bat recently and makes a great tournament play as no one will be targeting him at his price tonight.

Pitcher Grind Down
- Jordan Zimmermann – Zimmermann should be avoided for cash games tonight because he is likely going to receive little to no run support with King Felix on the mound which really hurts his chances of picking up a win. That said, he could make a nice contrarian GPP play as he’ll likely have a very low % of ownership. He’s pitched well this season with a 2.93 ERA and a K/9 of 7.9. Rating = 6
Salaries: $8900 FD, $17800 DD, $10000 DK, $NA FF, $NA SS, $17800 FTD
- Felix Hernandez – King Felix, like Clayton Kershaw, is a pitcher that I don’t mind paying $11 – $12k on FD and DK for. He is a threat for double-digit strikeouts every time he takes the mound. On the season he owns a 2.07 ERA with a K/9 of 9.6. Furthermore, he has a career low walk rate of 4.6% and a career low HR per fly ball rate of 7.6%. He’s the top option on the board and is my favorite pitcher in cash games, even at his expensive price tag. Rating = 9.9
Salaries: $11000 FD, $22100 DD, $11700 DK, $ FF, $ SS, $20550 FTD

Washington / Seattle
This game features the lowest run total of the night (6 runs). These are two of the best pitchers in baseball and I’m expecting a very low scoring game. For that reason, I’ll be avoiding both offenses in this one.

Pitcher Grind Down
- Dan Haren – Haren has been very inconsistent this season. He’ll have a good start every now and then, but he’s been a pitcher that I’ve avoided for the majority of the season. He owns a 4.44 ERA this year with a K/9 of 6.9. The only reason that you should be considering him tonight is thanks to his matchup against the Padres in Petco. I don’t love him for cash games, but I do think he’s in play as a cheap GPP option. Rating = 5.5
Salaries: $7100 FD, $14300 DD, $6600 DK, $NA FF, $NA SS, $13350 FTD
- Andrew Cashner – In his first start in over 2 months, Cashner gave up 2 earned runs over 5 innings of work while striking out a single batter. He only threw 88 pitches in his first start back from injury and it may take him a few starts to get back into good form. He can safely be avoided against the Dodgers who are ranked 7th in wOBA vs. RH pitching this season. Rating = 5
Salaries: $7700 FD, $13000 DD, $7100 DK, $ FF, $ SS, $13000 FTD

LA Dodgers
Dee Gordon – I always like targeting Gordon against RH pitchers. Not only does he hit righties better than lefties, but his stolen base potential also goes up. He draws a pretty decent matchup against Cashner who has given up a .325 wOBA to LH hitters this season.
Additional Plays: Adrian Gonzalez
San Diego
Jedd Gyorko – Haren has some serious reverse splits this season. He has given up a .355 wOBA to RH hitters. Gyorko has hit him well in the past and offers a great value play at 2B if you are looking to save some cap space somewhere.
Additional Plays: Yangervis Solarte, Yasmani Grandal

Pitcher Grind Down
- Wily Peralta – Peralta owns a 3.56 ERA on the season with a K/9 of 6.7. He has pitched well on the road and gets to pitch in a pitcher-friendly AT&T Park tonight against the Giants. While the Giants aren’t the best offense in baseball, they have a few bats in their lineup that can really make pitchers pay for their mistakes. I’m not too high or too low on Peralta tonight. Rating = 5.5
Salaries: $7700 FD, $13900 DD, $7400 DK, $NA FF, $NA SS, $13900 FTD
- Ryan Vogelsong – Vogelsong is a tough pitcher to predict on a nightly basis. His numbers on the season look great though. He owns a 3.78 ERA with a K/9 of 7.3. That’s not bad for a pitcher in his price range. He’ll have the platoon advantage over a RH heavy Brewers lineup, but I still have a hard time targeting pitchers against the Brewers. They have too many good hitters in their lineup. Rating = 5
Salaries: $6300 FD, $12700 DD, $7000 DK, $ FF, $ SS, $12700 FTD
Batter Grind Down
Milwaukee
Scooter Gennett – One guy that Vogelsong won’t have the splits advantage against is Gennett. Vogelsong has given up a .345 wOBA to LH hitters this season and Gennett should be batting 5th tonight. I like him as a value play at 2B.
Additional Plays: Jonathan Lucroy, Carlos Gomez
San Francisco
Pablo Sandoval – The Panda has one of the better wOBA matchups of the night. Peralta has given up a .367 wOBA to LH hitters this season and Sandoval has a .362 wOBA against RH pitching. He’s also been swinging a hot bat with 13 hits over his last 10 games.
Additional Plays: Buster Posey
