CBB DFS Slate Breakdown: Tuesday, January 4th

We have a monster slate today, likely with some cancellations, but let’s get to it. I won’t spend too much time on each game, but I will get to them all. We are quickly approaching CBB season, so it’s time to really dig in and get prepped for NBA All-Star break.

Auburn (75)

The DraftKings prices have slowly trended toward better, so they aren’t any absurd misprices on the slate which is relatively surprising. I guess 5x value now is not an absurd misprice to me which kind of tells you a bit about the landscape of CBB DFS this year. Anyway, Auburn at first glance has some GPP options but that’s about it. With Allen Flanigan ($5,400) getting back to full health, guys like KD Johnson, Wendell Green, Zep Jasper, and Devan Cambridge are all going to lose a couple of ticks. Green is a fine play in a vacuum because of his fantastic rates, but he isn’t playing enough minutes on the regular to be cash viable. Flanigan is the closest to cash viable here as his fantastic defensive rebounding rates and his 20%+ shot rate is likely going to give him a high floor, especially if Cambridge misses again due to COVID or plays a few less minutes. Walker Kessler ($8,100) and Jabari Smith ($8,300) remain the two highest upside guys on the slate with the best shot and rebounding rates – Smith’s rebounding rate in my opinion is likely to reduce a bit with Flanigan back, and he has no chance at matching Kessler in block rate. Kessler is the much easier play here for 200 less, but he is only borderline cash viable – a great GPP play against a weak SC team, though.
