A daily fantasy sports OG, Notorious has been roaming the DFS streets ever since they were invented. He has racked up multiple live final seats and several six-figure tournament wins in his DFS career, and Noto will mix it up in all different types of contests. So, who better to walk you through the madness of an NBA DFS slate? Core Plays LIVE will zoom out on the slate as a whole, zoom in on the best NBA DFS picks, and constantly update as news breaks. Whether you are diving into the slate 5 hours before it starts or 5 minutes before it starts, you’ve come to the right place.

Happy Friday!

I write happy before all of the days, but this time, I actually mean it. The weekend is here, and I’m finally looking to finish the spare room that I am turning into a cold plunge room. I know, I know, it should have been done weeks ago. I’m having an issue cutting the laminate around the vent, so I need to purchase an oscillating tool. Did I know what an oscillating tool was before I started this project? Absolutely not, but it should help me cut the piece how I need it. I’m starting to realize it would have been easier to lay the laminate parallel to the vent rather than perpendicular, but you live and you learn.

It’s always nice to have options and we have plenty of them when it comes to DFS this evening. FanDuel has a 5-game slate that features late swap, while DraftKings has a 6-game slate that features no late swap. I will personally be playing more on DraftKings because I’m a fan of no late swap and because it features the ATL/UTA game, which should be a goldmine for fantasy production. There are three teams playing in the front end of a back-to-back (Hornets, Pelicans, Jazz) and two teams playing in the second half of a back-to-back (Suns, Clippers).

Let’s start the weekend off on a good note.

Team Previews

Phoenix Suns (at CHA): We start with the Suns, who are playing in the second half of a back-to-back. For lack of better words, they got their booties kicked by the Celtics last night. They have a much easier matchup this evening, as the Hornets are 29th in rebounding rating and 26th in defensive rating. The Suns are 9.5-point favorites and have the 2nd highest team total on the slate. Eric Gordon and Josh Okogie both missed last night’s game, so we’ll have to keep an eye on their availability. With those two out, the Suns essentially went with a 7-man rotation. The real appeal here would come from Bradley Beal, Devin Booker, or Kevin Durant sitting out in the second half of the back-to-back. With all three currently expected to play, there’s not much that stands out in terms of RGValues in the projections.

Charlotte Hornets (vs. PHX): The Hornets haven’t been good at home, they haven’t been good on the road, and they have the worst point differential in the NBA. It’s been a rough go for Charlotte fans this season. Tonight they host the Suns, who have been a middling matchup for fantasy production. They have a team total of only 104 points, which is the lowest on the board and well below their season average. LaMelo Ball, Mark Williams, Cody Martin, Seth Curry, and Bryce McGowens are all expected to miss this game. Even though the Hornets don’t project all that well in the context of tonight’s slate, Vasilije Micic has averaged 32 fantasy points over his last 4 games, Brandon Miller (23%) and Miles Bridges (27%) have dominated usage recently, and Nick Richards should push for around 30 minutes.
