Happy Tuesday!
I decided to play two players from the Heat on last night’s slate. Given the fact that this is the opening to today’s article, you can probably guess who they were. You know what I didn’t have on my Monday evening bingo card? Patty Mills playing more minutes than Nikola Jovic and as many minutes as Jaime Jaquez. I know Erik Spoelstra is looking for anything to click at this point, but I was not expecting that. At one point in the 1st half, Jovic checked back in for his 2nd-quarter stint and was subbed back out 10 seconds later. It was a brutal slate for me, but the good news is that we can forget all about it and focus on tonight’s games.
There are 3 games on the schedule, and two teams are facing elimination. The Sixers could easily be up 3-1 in this series but now have to win in New York to extend the series. The Bucks haven’t been able to put up much of a fight without Giannis Antetokounmpo all series and Damian Lillard in Game 4. We’ll get to the Bucks shortly, but both of their stars are expected to be out again tonight. As for the third game, the Magic and Cavaliers are tied at 2-2. The home team has dominated each of the first 4 games of that series, so we’ll see if that continues tonight.

Team Previews
Philadelphia 76ers (at NYK): We kick off the slate with the Sixers, who can’t feel good about where they sit in the series. They likely should have won a game in New York and blew a golden opportunity to win the last game at home. They now have to go into the lion’s den to stave off elimination. The Knicks are an absolutely brutal matchup for fantasy production, and the Sixers come into the game with a team total that is 15.4 points below their season average. Even though they have topped 100 points in 3 of the first 4 games, they have a team total of only 99.3 points (the lowest on the slate).
Tyrese Maxey has scored at least 42 fantasy points in all 4 games in this series even though he’s gone 8-for-21 and 9-for-21 from the field, respectively, over the last 2 games. He’s still underpriced on DraftKings ($8,400) and should push for minutes in the low-to-mid 40s. Kyle Lowry has been an excellent source of value in this series, topping 20 fantasy points in every game. He hasn’t been very involved offensively (averaging 6.5 shot attempts) but has been able to fill up the stat sheet. Outside of Game 2, Kelly Oubre has played at least 38 minutes and has scored at least 26 fantasy points in every game. All three of these players seem too cheap on DraftKings.
Given the matchup and the fact that the game is on the road, I will take my chances with a fade of Nicolas Batum, De’Anthony Melton, and Cam Payne. Tobias Harris is intriguing on paper given the cheap price point, but he seems to have lost his confidence on the offensive end of the floor. He has not been aggressive looking for his own shot and is only 3-for-14 from the 3-point line in the series. Joel Embiid played the entire 2nd half of Game 4, and it clearly hurt his efficiency. He wasn’t the same player late in that game, likely due to fatigue. I suppose you can flip it and view his 44 minutes as a positive for DFS. He’s topped 52 fantasy points in every game this series and should play as many minutes as he can handle in this elimination game.
