NBA Player Props Today – Tuesday, April 16, 2024

Domantas Sabonis Over/Under 13.5 Rebounds

Following the All-Star Break, Domantas Sabonis led the NBA, averaging 14.6 rebounds and 25.4 rebound chances per game. In those 27 games, he recorded at least 14 rebounds 16 times, good for a 59.3% hit rate to the over.

In his last 15 games in which he played at least 35 minutes, Sabonis recorded at least 14 rebounds 12 times, good for an 80.0% hit rate to the over. Tonight, he should see an extended workload in a win-or-go-home situation against the Warriors.

The primary concern for Sabonis is the matchup. During the second half of the regular season, Golden State led the league in rebound percentage and ranked 11th in opponent rebounds per game. Only two centers to play the Warriors after the All-Star Break managed more than 12 rebounds. Still, at even money, this is a worthwhile risk to begin the Play-In Tournament.

Andrew Wiggins Over/Under 15.5 Points

Andrew Wiggins has been scoring the ball better of late, but he averaged only 13.2 points per game during the regular season and doesn’t project particularly well in this matchup against the Kings.

Following the All-Star Break, Wiggins’ shot profile consisted mostly of shots around the rim and above-the-break 3-pointers. During that stretch, Sacramento allowed the 3rd-fewest shot attempts per game in the restricted area and the 4th-fewest shot attempts per game from above the break of any team in the NBA.

Wiggins averaged 17 points per game in a small sample size to begin April, but he averaged only 13.4 points per game in March and only 13.5 points per game in February. It remains to be seen if his recent uptick in efficiency will translate to the grind of the postseason.

Brandin Podziemski Over/Under 3.5 Rebounds

Brandin Podziemski is far from an elite basketball player and is certainly a candidate to have his role reduced in an elimination game, but this market number is still likely too low for a player who averaged 26.1 minutes per game in April and 26.2 minutes per game in March.

Podziemski finished the regular season averaging 5.8 rebounds per game and averaged at least 5.3 rebounds in every month from December through April. Sacramento is a good rebounding team overall, but they haven’t been particularly good on the glass against opposing guards of late. In April alone, they have allowed 5 rebounds to James Harden, 5 rebounds to Donte DiVincenzo, 4 rebounds to Cam Thomas, 4 rebounds to Aaron Wiggins, 4 rebounds to Josh Giddey, 4 rebounds to Isaiah Joe, 4 rebounds to Devin Booker, 9 rebounds to Bradley Beal, 6 rebounds to Rayan Rupert, and 6 rebounds to Justin Minaya.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see this number close at 4.5, or at a minimum, with significantly less playable odds. Podziemski should see a decent-sized role in this game.
