What is PrizePicks?

PrizePicks is a props-based DFS hybrid platform. The main difference between PrizePicks and other similar platforms that have hit the market is that PrizePicks offers props on fantasy points. So rather than putting a DFS spin on traditional props, like whether Anthony Davis will get over or under 3.5 blocks in a given game, PrizePicks sets a fantasy points line. From there, users analyze PrizePicks’ unique scoring system to decide whether the selected player will go over or under the line in his matchup that night.

PrizePicks Software?

PrizePicks is currently available on the web as well as through the native iOS app (Android users can still easily use the mobile web version). The interface isn’t flashy, nor is it going to win any awards for design. But at the end of the day, PrizePicks is a ridiculously simple game, and the site does its job well. It’s easy to deposit, make your picks and enter them.

The game itself is extremely simple, and that’s reflected in the interface. The rules and scoring for each sport could be organized more effectively, but DFS players will no doubt be familiar with the scoring system after a few games and when reading through the pop-ups where the scoring breakdown is available.

Other than a potential interface improvement here, the PrizePicks’ website serves serves games both on desktop and mobile browsers effectively, and of course the iOS app makes for even easier accessibility.

PrizePicks Game Offerings and Features

As mentioned, PrizePicks is simple. There is only one type of game offering, which is available for multiple sports and events. Once you choose a sport, you’ll see a board that lists players, along with their fantasy points line:

Next, users must, at the very least, make over/under selections for at last two players on two different teams. Full rules are as follows:

  • Choose 2, 3 or 4 players
  • Choose the over/under on the projected fantasy points line
  • Choose an amount to wager

Upon completion of the contest, payouts are:

  • 4/4 picks pays out 10x
  • 3/3 picks pays out 5x
  • 2/2 picks pays out 2.5x

PrizePicks also pays a small amount for plays that aren’t perfect, but are more right than wrong:

  • 3/4 correct on 4-pick pays out .2x
  • 2/3 correct on 3-pick pays out .15x
  • 1/2 correct on 2-pick pays out .1x

For example, if you enter a $50 4-pick and get all correct, you’d scoop $500. If you get 3/4, you’d at least get $10 back.
