Week 8 Kings: WRs & TEs

Jordy Nelson ($7800) – It will be very hard to not strongly consider Jordy Nelson this week; he has so much working in his favor. First off, Nelson is the league’s second most targeted player with 73 targets. The best part about Nelson’s targets is the fact that they are coming from one of the league’s most talented QBs in Aaron Rodgers. The Saints are currently surrendering the second most FPs to the WR position. Lastly, this game has an insane O/U 55.5 and has continued to rise throughout the week. All signs point to another great stat line for Jordy Nelson, making him a top play candidate.

Dez Bryant ($6900) – The price on Dez Bryant is just too low this week at just $6900. Bryant is an elite WR and lands a great match-up this week against a weak Redskins secondary. Even with the Cowboys concerted effort to run the ball, Dez is currently third in the NFL with 69 targets. The Cowboys have the highest team total on the week sitting right around 30; I love Dez in this primetime match-up with the Redskins.

Vincent Jackson ($5100) – Vincent Jackson makes for a great cheap WR week 8. Jackson is buried on the DK WR salaries all the way down at the $5100 mark. Vincent is currently the 13th most targeted player in the NFL and is a favorite of Mike Glennon. The match-up with Minnesota is great as well. On paper, it may look like Minnesota has a decent pass defense but that simply is not true. Minnesota has frequently been the victims of blowouts which has their opponents turning to a run heavy approach.

Michael Floyd ($4900) – Floyd has surpassed Larry Fitzgerald as the go to guy in the Cardinals passing game. Carson Palmer and Floyd appear to have great chemistry. In every game that Palmer has started, Floyd has either 100 yards receiving or a TD. The match-up with the fast paced Eagles is superb as well, as you can count of some extra offensive snaps.

GPP

Antonio Brown ($8000) – For cash games, I’d much rather have Jordy Nelson at this price and that will be the mindset on many players this week. As mentioned numerous times throughout the season, Brown is the most consistent WR in the NFL; he continually finds ways to put FPs on the board as we saw last week when passed for a TD. The price is high and the match-up is less than ideal which will make Brown an under-owned commodity this week.

Tight End

Rob Gronkowski ($5900) – With Gronkowski, you are getting one of the league’s best pass catchers and you are only paying a middle tier WR price. Gronk’s price of $5900 sits well below the top end WRs while he is very capable of producing top end WR numbers. Gronk has played a full complement of snaps in the Patriots last three games and looks to be completely healthy. The Patriots have one of the highest team totals at 27 and I would be shocked if Gronkowski does not find the end zone in this match-up against the Bears.

Martellus Bennett ($5200) – Bennett started out the season as the hottest TE in the league with four TDs in the first three weeks. He has since cooled off quite a bit, however he is still a favorite target of Jay Cutler when the Bears near the end zone. Over the last four weeks, Bennett has still landed nine red zone targets, which is a very promising sign for future success.

Zach Ertz ($3200) – Dating back to last season, the Arizona Cardinals have shown the inability to defend the TE position. Zach Ertz has not been very consistent, however that can be said about the entire Eagles offense. There really is not much risk associated with this play due to the extremely low price tag of $3200.

GPP

Jordan Cameron ($3700) – Cameron received a rather large price drop all the way down to $3700. The Browns are a very run heavy team, leaving most members of the passing game a DFS risk. Cameron has big play potential from the TE position making him a very high risk/reward type player. I like him as a GPP only play.
