When Did ESPN BET Launch?

The sports betting world instantly changed when PENN Entertainment issued a press release in August 2023 announcing that it had entered into a transformative, exclusive online sports betting agreement with ESPN, Inc.

The agreement gives PENN exclusive rights to use the ESPN name as a branded sportsbook for a 10-year term. PENN will pay $1.5 billion over the 10 years of the initial agreement. This is unquestionably the biggest online sportsbook market shakeup in the past several years. The relationship could be extended for another 10 years if both companies agree to it.
