Safeway Open

Golfers I Am Overweight On

Patrick Cantlay – If you get the #1 overall selection or he falls to you at your first round pick, Cantlay makes the most sense as an option. His statistics were solid across the board last year, punctuated by ranks of 16th in strokes gained on approach and 9th in ball striking. He’s never played this event, yet he is the Vegas favorite… and for good reason. Don’t let the price tag scare you away. He has the best combination of safety and upside in the field.

Adam Hadwin – A steady pick for your second selection. Hadwin finished inside the top 25 in each of the three FedEx Cup playoff events in which he participated. It wasn’t enough to get him to the Tour Championship, but it was an encouraging run after a relatively quiet summer. He’s well above average statistically in this field in almost every major category, and I expect him to post his personal best finish at Silverado this year after three finishes of 40th or worse in his first three trips.
