We have a relatively small early slate today, with just four games on the docket. As usual, I will provide a quick breakdown of the early slate followed by a more detailed write-up of the evening games. As for the early slate, it all starts with Chris Sale. I simply don’t see how you fade him on this slate. His strikeout rate now sits at an absurd 36.4% this year, and that is backed up by a whopping 16.1% strikeout rate. Yeah, that’s pretty good. He also gets a fine matchup against a Seattle team that has quite a few hitters that swing from the left side, including two of the more dangerous bats in their lineup in Robinson Cano and Kyle Seager. Sale has held lefties to a .201 batting average and .240 wOBA in his career. Just lock him in as your SP #1 on the early slate and move on.
