DraftKings PGA Projected Ownership: Farmers Insurance Open - Weekend Edition
Weekend DFS golf was a big success in its inaugural week at The Masters. Most of the weekend GPPs filled and there was plenty of positive buzz among both DFS players and the media regarding the new scoring format, contest options, and prize pools. As anticipated, heavy ownership gushed towards the leaders after Round 2 at the Masters. The DFS community should now begin adapting their roster selection process for weekend play, focusing more on scoring potential and less on leaderboard standings after Round 2. By now, most realize that DraftKings Weekend golf does not include tournament finish scoring. Unfortunately, interest in Weekend golf has waned significantly for the RBC Heritage with big overlays in play for most DraftKings GPPs as of 8 PM Friday night. So you might consider increasing your Weekend golf contest exposure, showing your support for this new DFS product and taking advantage of the overlay goodness.
Congrats to Schneidz44 for winning the DraftKings Weekend PGA Moving Day Special contest and the $100,000 first place prize! Schneidz44 rode the memorable runs of Sergio Garcia (44.00% pOwn%, 48.13% actual) and Justin Rose (25.00% pOwn%, 24.13% actual). But instead of chasing Masters Round 2 leaderboard chalk, Schneidz44 rostered lower owned scorers such as Brooks Koepka (5.00% pOwn%, 6.65% actual) and Charl Schwartzel (3.00% pOwn%, 8.17% actual). Of course, Matt Kuchar’s (14.00% pOwn%, 13.48% actual) ace on the 16th certainly helped the cause! The winning roster’s average ownership was 17.99%. Other top-10 rosters’ average ownership were in the 18-24% range. Average roster ownership for the three most duplicated rosters (including Round 2 leaderboard chalk Pieters, Charley Hoffman, and McGirt) ranged around 35%.
