Howdy sports fans and bettors, glad you’ve arrived at RotoGrinders’ sports betting plays article. Last week we gave you six plays for Thursday’s NBA slate and went 5-1!

For today, Thursday, November 15, 2018, we’re once again looking at the NBA schedule and using lines from FanDuel’s online sportsbook. Here are our FanDuel Sportsbook NBA plays of the day:

Rockets -2 (-110)

Stephen Curry’s absence is a big reason behind this one. Draymond Green’s return should help, but the Warriors have looked as out of whack offensively over the last two games as they have at any point in the last few years. Houston had a brutal start to the year but they are clicking after a road win in Denver, thanks in large part to having a healthy James Harden and Chris Paul together. This one opened at -1 and has jumped a point thanks to heavy money on the Houston side, although just over half the bets have been on that side (53%) as of this writing. Harden and Paul should pose a big problem here after the Warriors struggled with the Hawks and Clippers respective backcourts over the last two games.

BOOK THE ROCKETS -2 RIGHT NOW!

Klay Thompson Over 23.5 Points (-122)

With Stephen Curry out, Thompson has chucked up a combined 50 shots over the past two games, 23 of which came from three-point land. While Thompson is generally a shaky DFS contributor because he only contributes regularly in one category, his one strength – putting the ball in the basket – is the only thing we’re concerned with here. Per the RotoGrinders CourtIQ tool, with Curry off the court this season Klay has seen a +2.44 bump in FGMs per 36 minutes, the number we have him projected for this evening. Thompson is also carrying a hefty 37.3% usage rate in that split, a massive +7.8% usage differential which lends itself well to a high number of shot attempts for Klay. I’m playing the over here.

Clippers -5.5 (-110)

San Antonio is traveling for a road game on a back-to-back, something that generally doesn’t bring out the best in teams. It also helps the Clippers cause that the Spurs have looked out of sync, dropping last night’s game in embarrassing fashion to the Suns after losing to the Kings earlier in the week. I don’t expect the Spurs to struggle for an extended period of time and betting on that to continue is a little scary, but the Clippers are rested – they haven’t taken the court since Monday – and are on a home stand, so they haven’t been traveling. It’s possible they get Avery Bradley back here, but his presence is irrelevant to my confidence in the LA side. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is poised to maintain a significant role regardless and has been a bright spot for the Clippers over the last few nights, and his length should give the Spurs guards fits.

Bet the Clippers -5.5 points on FanDuel Online Sportsbook!

Lou Williams Over 4.5 Assists (-118)

I’ll note right off the bat that if Avery Bradley does play, my confidence in this one would dwindle and I’d take it off the card. With Bradley out lately, Williams has come into more court time and has played 32+ minutes in each of the past three games, something that I’d want to continue if I’m betting the over 4.5. I don’t see the Clippers running out Patrick Beverley for big minutes in a matchup with a Spurs backcourt that isn’t relied upon heavily for offense with White and Forbes at the helm, so this spot should lend itself to at least 27-30 minutes for Lou Will. He’s racked up at least six assists over his last four games.

Taurean Prince Under 16.5 Points (-104)

The Hawks are double-digit underdogs on the road here and while they kept pace against Golden State, I’m not betting on a young Hawks team in a tough environment. Prince has been very efficient over his last two outings, knocking down 9 of 15 three-point attempts while going 17-27 from the field. His highest point output over those two games was 23 points and given that he doesn’t get to the line regularly, I don’t have a ton of confidence that his scoring outburst will continue. Part of this is that I don’t see the Hawks starters running deep into the fourth, further capping the scoring upside of the core rotation pieces.

WAGER ON TAUREAN PRINCE TO SCORE U16.5 POINTS!
