How I Have These Things Organized

“All these stats!”

Am I right? Look, if that’s the way you are feeling, I certainly understand. There are a lot of numbers we have talked about, and it may seem as though it would be difficult and confusing to keep up with everything.

But here’s the cool thing: it’s not difficult or confusing at all. All you have to do is come up with a system.

Now, I’m going to share with you the system I use. If you read the Predicting Pitching course, you probably have a pretty good idea already of what my system looks like. But before I share my organizational system with you, I want to say this: My way is not the only way. (Heck, honestly, my way is probably entirely different from what most people use.)

You see, I’m not a spreadsheet guy. I’m not a “hang out with Excel” kind of guy. I probably could be, honestly — my mind works in an Excel-type manner — but I like a more hands-on approach to my research. I like to have to look at the numbers myself. I like to touch them and feel them, so to speak. That’s what my system enables me to do.

If you are into spreadsheets, however, you can organize things that way.

If you are not into spreadsheets, and my organizational approach does not appeal to you, you can come up with a way that works for you.

It doesn’t matter how you organize things. Seriously, it doesn’t matter at all. All that matters is that things are organized in a way that makes sense to you.

Got it? Good. All right, then — let’s take a look at what works for me.
