On the season, the Spurs own an above average record of 36-31, but have some pretty drastic home/road disparities. The Spurs have been one of the best teams to bet on at home going 21-12 ATS, which ranks fifth in the league, while on the road they are a completely different beast going 15-19 ATS and 5-7 ATS as a road favorite. Additionally, San Antonio has been a below average team on a full day’s rest going 19-22 ATS. Overall, this is a bad spot for the Spurs to cover the spread.
Mavericks Historical Numbers Against the Spread
Even though the Mavericks are in a bit of rebuild mode, they have been one of the best teams to bet on this year going 38-28 ATS, which ranks fourth in the NBA. Where the Mavericks have been really dominant this season has been at home where they have gone 22-11 ATS, which ranks second in the NBA. Only the Kings have been a better team to bet on at home. Additionally, the Mavericks have been one of the best teams to bet on on a full day’s rest going 22-16 ATS, and have also gone 23-15 ATS after a loss. Overall, this is a very good spot for the Mavericks to cover the spread.

Tonight’s match up features two fairly slow paced teams. The Mavericks currently rank 19th in pace, 18th in defensive efficiency and 21st in offensive efficiency. Meanwhile the Spurs rank 22nd in pace, 20th in defensive efficiency and 7th in offensive efficiency.

Looking at their home/road splits, the Mavs have been much worse at covering the over at home going 12-19-2, which ranks third worst in the NBA. Additionally, the Mavs have been one of the worst teams in the league at covering the over on a full day’s rest going 15-22-1 (fifth worst in the NBA). Overall, this is a bad spot for the Mavs to cover the over.
