The Philadelphia 76ers overcame poor performances from Ben Simmons and Kawhi Leonard to steal one on the road in Game 2. Kawhi Leonard is playing at a historical level, but the Toronto Raptors need more production from their bench if they want to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals. Here’s a sports betting recap of Game 2 and an NBA betting preview for Game 3.

The Philadelphia 76ers bounced back in Game 2 to beat the Toronto Raptors 94-89, despite getting only 18 points from Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons. Embiid was especially bad, shooting 2-for-7 from the field while turning the ball over six times.

Luckily for the Sixers, Jimmy Butler was ready to pick up the slack. Butler recorded a double-double with 30 points and 10 rebounds to help the 8-point underdogs win outright.

But the biggest difference in Game 2 came from the bench. With Mike Scott ruled out, James Ennis and Greg Monroe led Philadelphia’s reserves with 13 and 12 points respectively. The Raptors’ bench was quiet combining for just five points.

The series may be moving to Philadelphia for Game 3, but the Raptors are still one-point favorites.

Stat of the Day: Leonard Exemplifies Postseason Efficiency

After shooting 29-for-47 in the first two games of the series, Kawhi Leonard is the most efficient scorer in NBA postseason history. While most shooters get worse in the playoffs due to tougher competition, Leonard’s true shooting percentage actually increases.

Prop Shop: Kawhi Leonard Over/Under 29.5 Points

Speaking of Leonard, his 35-point performance Monday was his fourth playoff game scoring 34+ this postseason. Leonard didn’t miss a two-pointer in Game 1 and only missed four shots inside the arc during Game 2. As shown above, Leonard has displayed remarkable consistency in his playoff career. It doesn’t hurt that he’s seeing significantly more minutes this series than he did against the Magic. Breakfast Lean: Kawhi Leonard Over 29.5 Points (FanDuel Sportsbook)

Temperature Meter: Offense Cooling Down

Kawhi may be hot but both team’s offenses have been cold. With the Under hitting in consecutive games the point total has seen the largest change in Game 3. The total is now 216.5, falling from 223 in Game 1 and 220 and Game 2.

The Under hasn’t just been hitting in this series. In fact, the Over is 5-2 in Sixers’ playoff games and 6-1 in Raptors’ playoff games so far.

The Breakfast Pick

Philadelphia opened as one-point favorites, but that didn’t last for long as the the spread quickly flipped early Tuesday morning at DraftKings Sportsbook.

There’s a case to be made for both teams.

In one corner you can take the home dogs as the Raptors will be playing in hostile territory. Is it encouraging that Philadelphia’s bench contributed 28 points or should the Sixers feel uneasy that they were forced to rely on the likes of Greg Monroe and James Innis to get the win?

In the other corner, the Raptors have the best player on the court in Kawhi Leonard and it’s really not even close, but can he continue shooting at a historic rate or is regression right around the corner?

I think the game is a pick’em and if the line moves another half-point to Philadelphia +1.5 as I expect it to then I’ll be taking the home dog. Breakfast Pick: Philadelphia +1.5.
