2013 DSBC Finals Preview: STLCardinals84 (#5) vs. Maxdalury (#8)

The 40 DSBC Finalists started their grueling journey way back on August 6th. Tomorrow, 1 of the 40 will be crowned Champion and awarded $100,000.

Path to $100,000: Final Forty Form a Bracket

The 40 finalists (shown in Payout Table two below) earned their way to the DraftStreet Baseball Championship throughout the MLB season by qualifying in a variety of GPP contests. Once in the finals, they competed in a two-day MLB contest where users made separate teams on Tue 8/6 and Wed 8/7 with standings being determined by combined scores from both days. Based on these standings, 28 were eliminated and paid $1,500 – $2,500 and 12 advanced to the Bracket.

The Top 4 finishes after Days 1 and 2 (gjle8140, IllinSquad, Desertfire05, & Mike5754) received a bye in the 1st round. In the Elite 8 two notable names were eliminated in 2012 DSFC Finalist IllinSquad and #7 Overall Ranked Notorious, who won $50,000 in a similar Bracket Championship just a few days prior to the Elite 8.

The favorites advanced in the Final 4 as #5 Overall Ranked STLCardinals84 and MaxDalury ousted RotoGrinders members gjle8140 and PaddleSmasher respectively. This set up the finals.

Good luck to both of you. But I have ?. Your scores and all that were in this championship scores seemed to me to be lower than when the play everyday, a lot lower. Now is that over thinking, or why, if any one knows, A 50 was gold in this. Many advanced with 35 to 40 scores,I looked at everyday players in that time frame, and the fact is NONE of you would had advanced if you were up against theses players, Don,t get me wrong, it,s hard to even get in, am sure your in score was 90 or so, to get in. Just wondering if there is a legit reason. GOOD LUCK AND GOOD JOB TO ALL.
