How Our Splash Picks Work
Our Splash picks today are designed to help you quickly find an edge on the Splash app and website. They should be viewed as a cheat sheet, saving you time while increasing your chances of winning by highlighting the biggest edges and stats across sports based on today’s Splash projections.
With this cheat sheet, you can find MORE or LESS projections for every player on the Splash menu, alongside a calculated win percentage and graded “edge.” If you don’t already have a Splash account, check out our Splash Sports promo code. Find out more below.
What factors do your Splash picks consider?
We combine a picks model, simulations, and current market data to help assess expected value. The underlying model is unique to each sport, but the goal is the same: determine the most likely outcome (More or Less) to win and the expected win percentage.
On a deeper level, we have a full team designated to determine our model inputs and monitor our projections, including relevant news such as weather and injuries. This is what makes our Splash picks unique compared to other products. Our picks aren’t simply the results of an unmonitored, automated system. We consider the full context of a player’s matchup — their opponents, weather, conditions, injuries, and other relevant news that may impact their usage and success in their upcoming game or event.
How much can I trust your Splash picks?
You should take our recommended picks as the starting point of your own research. We can’t promise they will win — playing on Splash should always, and only, be viewed as a form of entertainment — but you can make informed decisions by referencing our projections, knowing that they are the product of a finely-tuned model combined with analysis from our team of experts.
How often are the Splash picks updated?
This page is updated at least once every 10 minutes, as soon as sports are activated for the day on Splash. This typically occurs no later than 10:00 AM ET, and updates continue until 11:00 PM ET.
What sports do your Splash picks cover?
We have Splash picks for NFL and NBA. More sports will be added as Splash adds more coverage.

Splash Picks Tool Glossary & Terms
TYPE – The statistic or category being offered by Splash. These may be more traditional stats, like yards, touchdowns, and more. Or they could be more complex categories, like “1st round leaderboard position,” “runs allowed in first 5 innings,” and many others.
PROJ – Short for projection. The projection is the number currently set on Splash as the mark for “Less/More” (or Higher/Lower). This is the number you must cross (or fail to cross) in order for your pick to be graded as a win
PICK – This is the side of the projection we think is more likely to win, based on the calculations of our Splash picks model.
WINPCT – This stands for win percentage. This is the expected rate that our Splash picks model thinks the selected side (MORE or LESS) will win.
EDGE – This is the conservative percentage above the “break-even” line we expect for this pick. Every pick has an implied break-even point based on the payouts from Splash. These are shaded on a green-to-red scale (the greener a pick, the better). We estimate the break-even points and attempt to show you which selections are most likely to be profitable. Note: we use strict payout odds (e.g., 2-Pick). Oftentimes, the Fantasy Pick’em sites will imply a less strict break-even point when the overall win percentage of the lineup card is lower (e.g., 3-Pick, 5-Pick). Lastly, it is important to note that more picks could be profitable than the EDGE% implies based on the sites’ variable payout structures but the general ranking of which selections the tool thinks is best will typically remain the same.
