2018 SuperContest Recap: "SHABOOM" Grabs Lead and $15,000 in Week 4
Week of the 2018 Las Vegas SuperContest is in the books and things truly came down to the wire at the top of the leaderboard. Entering Monday Night Football, “CLEVTA” was on top with a 16-3-1 record for 16.5 points. The only contestant within striking distance was “SHABOOM” and he needed the Denver Broncos (+5) to get the cover to move into the top spot. Not only did SHABOOM get the cover to take the lead, but by doing so he won $15,000 from the SuperContest’s 1st Quarter Bonus.
The Broncos lost to the Kansas City Chiefs by a score of 27-23, but they covered the SuperContest spread getting five points. Entering the matchup, the Chiefs were 3-0 against the spread, whereas the Broncos were 0-2-1.
SHABOOM went 4-1 in Week 4 to move to 17-3 overall for 17 points. In addition to the Broncos, his winning picks were the Houston Texans (+1), Cincinnati Bengals (+5), and Oakland Raiders (-2.5).
The 1st Quarter Bonus that SHABOOM won goes to the contestant with the best record through the first four weeks of the season. It’s worth a $15,000 prize and any contestants tied would split the bonus evenly. There was no tie this year, as SHABOOM’s 17 points stand alone at the top.
