AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Weather Report and Forecast

PGA golfer Rory McIlroy

We are headed to scenic Pebble Beach for the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. The weather starts great but gets some bite by the weekend.

As usual in my PGA weather forecasts, we’re focusing more on wind than rain. While rain can halt play if it’s heavy enough, it also helps soften and slow the course, which helps as much as it hurts.

With wind, there’s no helpful side; it’s all negative impact. And the impact can lead to dramatic differences in scoring. My goal is always to try to highlight the time frame with the lightest winds and the time frame with the strongest winds to see if there’s a cumulative advantage for one wave over another. You can then use this to your advantage when making your DFS and sports betting picks.

AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Weather Forecast

Thursday, February 12th

Solid start, but there’s a chance of a rain shower in both the morning and afternoon; it will be mostly dry, and winds are in a great spot. Winds around 5 mph early morning and likely climbing a bit but settling in around or under 10 mph through the afternoon.

Friday, February 13th

Drying out and keeping the same very manageable winds. We’ll see the same pattern, with 5-mph early-morning winds climbing to around 10-mph afternoon winds.

Saturday, February 14th

Quiet start, with winds around 5 mph, but we could see those winds climbing by the afternoon, with wind gusts over 20 mph possible.

Sunday, February 15th

The worst weather day of the tournament. We’ll have to deal with both rain and wind to close things out. Scattered showers look likely, with winds gusting over 20 mph for most of the day, likely highest in the afternoon.

AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Weather Thoughts

With fairly quiet weather for the first couple of days, I don’t see much of a weather edge in the AM/PM waves on Thursday and Friday. I do think weather becomes an increasing issue as the tournament goes on, with Sunday being particularly troublesome due to the combination of wind and rain.
