Sunday, February 15

Hopefully everyone did well yesterday in the major Saturday slate. Was not one of my good days, as I made some errors in my plays, but hopefully my breakdowns allowed you all to make some money. The great part about DFS is that the next day is a new day and you get to start all over again, so let’s get right to Sunday’s breakdown.

Illinois at Wisconsin

Illinois

None – There are two teams here that I will not want any part of. Wisconsin is one of the best defenses in the country and they play extremely slow and are at home. Illinois is one of the lowest scoring teams in the slate and with Rice back, it really complicates things with the salaries of Nunn and Hill being so large.

Wisconsin

Nigel Hayes ($6,800) – Hayes’ price here on FanDuel has dropped all the way to $6,800 despite being a mortal lock for 22+ fantasy points. I like him here against Illinois as Wisconsin should get whatever they want in this game. The problem is that their offense is so efficient due to all of their players playing appropriate roles and taking good shots that there is not one dominant force outside of Kaminsky. You are paying money for Hayes’ consistency here, not his upside.

Houston at UCF

Houston

Danrad Knowles ($5,600) – I have been using Knowles for a while but sheepishly. He has a solid usage rate and plays a lot of minutes in the game along with being one of the tallest guys that Houston rolls out there. He has big guy upside and I finally have a matchup here against UCF’s horrible defense that I will actually like to exploit. I think his price is much too cheap and that in the right situation he has 40-point upside when he is making his outside shots.

LeRon Barnes ($5,500) – Barnes was sick a couple of games ago, making his minutes low and keeping his price low. Other than that, he has been a great player for Houston in the last two months. Barnes is not flashy, but he gets the job done and is very affordable with the bonus of playing UCF’s 312th ranked defense.

UCF

Kasey Wilson ($5,200) – Wilson had a great game last time out, and I am really not sure why he is not starting above Karell at this point. Wilson should get 25-30 minutes when healthy and as the lone senior on the team has great tempo-free stats when he is on the court. Wilson is not going to be highly owned, but he is cheap here, facing a terrible defense in Houston and has upside as proved by the previous game.
