Tuesday, March 3

Hello to Tuesday in the world of college hoops. Today begins conference tournament time, and with a few smaller conferences tipping off, we will not have the morning slates until next week. That does not mean that there is not still some great basketball on, as these teams will be fighting for their spot in the tournament. We have some great plays today and a LOT of value on the slate, which should make it extremely fun.

Georgetown at Butler

Georgetown

None – I could see a flier on Copeland, or maybe even Smith-Rivera with the value that is out there, but I will not be partaking in any Georgetown today. They are at Butler, who has one of the best defenses in the country and are projected for only 62 points here in a slow pace game. While DSR takes a ton of shots and has been great lately, this does not strike me as the type of matchup that is worth paying a premium for him. Outside of those two, none of the other Georgetown guys can be trusted, especially against Butler.

Butler

None – I looked at this and really contemplated wanting to have a Butler player to play today, but I honestly cannot find anyone who I really like the salaries of. I think you could argue Tyler Wideman, who is min salary and getting a lot of minutes, or Rose Jones, who should do decent work today, but Georgetown has a solid interior defense and neither guy consistently hits value at their price point. This just looks like a game that I am going to want to fade, as both teams have solid defenses and this should not be played at a high pace.

Iowa at Indiana

Iowa

Jarrod Uthoff ($8,200) – It is very hard to argue with Uthoff at $8,200 today against an Indiana team who struggles to defend the paint at times and really does not have a guard to match up with Uthoff, as Williams will most likely end up on White. Uthoff is $800 cheaper than White, and while White has been absolutely dominant lately (going for 40 points in three straight), Uthoff has been great as well, averaging 30 fantasy points over the last six.

Aaron White ($9,000) – I do not trust any of the other Iowa players, which makes these two guys beasts today. As noted above, White has gone for 40 in three straight and has a great chance to do so today against the weak Indiana interior, even if he is going to be guarded by Troy Williams. This game has one of the highest over/unders on the slate and White is well worth it as one of the highest priced players.

Indiana

Hanner Mosquera-Perea ($4,500) – At min price here you could do a lot worse than Mosquera-Perea. His minutes have steadily increased and his last game against Northwestern was a complete dud performance by the Hoosiers. They are going to need him on the court today to contend with the Iowa bigs and I am of the belief he can fall into 20 fantasy points fairly easily.

James Blackmon Jr ($7,300) – I am not a huge fan of Indiana in this matchup, as Iowa plays fairly slow and has a solid defense all around, but Indiana is at home and is projected to score some points. While I do not mind Ferrell, Blackmon is cheaper and plays much better at home. He is going to need to drain some threes today and his price is much lower than Ferrell’s. I am a little bit concerned about Uthoff’s defense, but Blackmon is quicker than Uthoff off the bounce and should be able to take advantage of that to grab some open shots.
