Darddog's Attack Plan for College Football DFS: New Year's Day Bowl Slate

A top-ranked college football DFS player, Micah Bedard (darddog) is here to walk you through the upcoming DraftKings slate. Micah will break down his favorite DFS picks at each position and will also lay out his strategy for how he is attacking the slate overall.

I know I bid farewell to y’all in November, but our guy Dan Gaspar has done such a great job with the slate write-ups in the CFB Discord that he’s inspired me to run it back one more time. DraftKings did an awesome job with some of the biggest prize pools all season. Even FanDuel has a $20,000-to-first main GPP for the five-game bowl slate.

Bowl season DFS is even more tilting than regular season with so many players opting out or going to the draft. Some of these teams have been hit so hard that the team that shows up for the bowl game is completely different than just a month prior.

Luckily, this New Year’s Day slate includes two of the CFP semi-finals, so you don’t have to worry about motivation or surprise no-shows. It’s a really great slate that includes some of the best offenses in the country with Oregon, Texas, and Washington.

So let’s get into my favorite New Years Day bowl slate DK plays.

I’m still waiting for someone to announce that Bo somehow has another year of college eligibility. Alas, the Fiesta Bowl will be the last game of his roller coaster college career. The Ducks are massive 17.5-point favorites, and Vegas is projecting them to score six touchdowns. Mr. Nix will likely be responsible for a good bit of those, and for cash games and SE lineups, he’s probably just a lock and move on. Liberty has played absolutely nobody this season. No seriously- they did not play a Power 5 opponent all season long. This is going to be a big step up in competition for the Flames. Nix loses his main target in Troy Franklin, but I don’t think he’ll have any trouble putting up fantasy points, as Liberty was pretty bad against the pass all season. He could also use his legs a bit more, which just increases his upside for this slate.
