Darddog's Attack Plan for College Football DFS: Week 9

A top-ranked college football DFS player, Micah Bedard (darddog) is here to walk you through the upcoming DraftKings slate. Micah will break down his favorite DFS picks at each position and will also lay out his strategy for how he is attacking the slate overall.

I know I sound like a broken record, but for the second week in a row, if you did not have Ollie Gordon in your DFS lineup, you were probably drawing dead at shipping any kind of GPP. Gordon bested his Week 7 effort, putting up a ridiculous 55 FP.

Shoutout to our very own Dan Back, who took down the $44 GPP with Gordon, as well as one of the GPP plays I wrote up in the article last week Nic Anderson.

On the Week 9 DK main slate, only three games have spreads in the single digits. Oregon/Utah will probably be the best in real life matchup, but both defenses are pretty good and that game could not be great from a DFS perspective.

Let’s get right into my top plays for Week 9.

In just two short weeks, USC had their national championship dreams dashed and Williams chances to win back-to-back Heisman Trophy’s flushed down the toilet. This could be a perfect get-right spot against Cal this week. Cal’s defense is giving up 6 yards per play, which ranks 104th in the country. USC averages 7.3 yards per play, which is good for fourth in the nation. Williams should play a big part in that. Sure, Williams put up two duds in his last performances. He only scored 18.9 DK points against Utah and 8.2 against Notre Dame. In the three Pac-12 games before that however, he put up 35.9/43/3/42/9 FP. Since USC spreads it around so much, you don’t even need to pair Williams with one of his pass catchers. If you do play one and Williams throws a couple of TDs their way, you could have some live GPP lineups.
